>2021
>front control arms are fricked
>take car in for service
>pay the wrenchlet tax because lazy
>2023
>front control arms fricked again
>bring it back for warranty
>tech insists i do all this extra shit
>nah just do contrtol arms, nothing else
>refuses to warranty control arms unless i get a pressure wash, oil leak fix, and front struts replaced at these insane rates
>struts were bad last time but they didnt make me fix those
>says the struts and oil leak caused it to go bad
>oh, by the way, motor mounts, CV axle, REAR struts, sway bar, and drive belts are also bad
>picrel isnt even half the bill
>full bill is over $7500 for all """recommended""" repairs
>shitbox is barely worth $3000 when its in good condition
What the absolute frick. Do people actually pay for all this shit? Currently waiting on them to either magically pull a better deal out of their ass or relent on the control arms.
So i guess you didnt notice but anything involving a human doing something now costs 3x what it did a few years ago. Call a drywall guy or plumber and your bill will be over $1000 for a day of extremely sloppy garbage work and they probably wont even finish
Do you regularly hit curbs or some shit, how did both control arms go bad already?
my lower control arms have 185k miles on them and i thrash the shit out of it, not much play honestly.
OP what mickey mouse plastic funhouse shitbox are you driving
currently looking at the struts online, which one should i go with? as for control arms, im waiting until i get the struts and oil leak fixed before they'll warranty it. oil leak's slow, but it's caking all over the bottom and eating up all the rubber, particularly motor mounts and bushings.

i deliver pizzas in neighborhoods full of karens who demand speed bumps on every fricking street. doesnt matter how slow you crawl over those things its still gonna frick your suspension given enough time. I probably go over hundreds of speed bumps a week. also worn struts that i didnt replace two years ago dont help
maintenence on a shitbox is still cheaper than a new car
fricking christian brothers of all places. local shop quoted me $820 for the struts and $759 for control arms (after mail coupons and cash discount). still not great but beats this place.
great way to be blacklisted lol
im
i sling pizzas for a living, i have no idea how you're wearing through suspension bits when my 300k mile lexus barely needs frick all... but i do keep ontop of it myself
you save so, so, SO much money doing this shit yourself, even if you think you can't, it seriously doesn't hurt (your wallet) to try.
>great way to be blacklisted lol
You need to keep going to this place knowing what you now understand is their business practice? Sounds like cuck behavior.
i aint going to these crroks again after this, but if im able to get them to fix my shit for free, then id take the chance getting them to fix my shit for free rather than completely blow it on an uphill legal battle.
Even going to a PlebAuto (rockauto) you're paying way too much for front struts OP. Find an independent shop that doesn't use Black person chinese parts for premium /euro/ prices
whole assembly or just the strut? also I thought rockauto is cheap chinkshit
quickstruts come with everything - spring, shock absorber, and top mount.
what's the catch with rockauto tho? there's no way they're that cheap without some sort of catch, be it 4 month long shipping or shit build quality
the catch is that they give you a cool fridge magnet with your order and they don't upcharge parts nearly as much as the autoparts store or mechanic
that's literally it. instead of costing $90 at store, or $120 at the mechanic for a part that costs $60 for them to buy wholesale they'll charge $70-75 for it. there is no meme catch really
You pay for shipping. That's the only "catch" ive ever found. You end up saving more than shipping on virtually ever single order though, so I have no idea why someone wouldn't use it unless you needed the part like that afternoon. Sounds like your car is just riding like shit, so you should absolutely put in an order and do the work the weekend after the parts arrive.
>chinkshit
They have the gamut of parts from your extreme economy to performance.
the catch is half of their parts are cheap shit and they have essentially no customer service, the will only allow returns inside 30 days. so dont buy shit and not use it immediately. ive been burned more than once buyig parts and not using it for over a month and later find out its a defective POS. rockauto will tell you to get fricked, or tell you to use the warranty, which only replaces you part with another POS
went ahead and ordered the FCS struts. just one question, can bad control arms ruin struts in the same way that bad struts can ruin control arms?
curious to see what they pull out of their ass when i go back there once the oil leak and struts are fixed
>their rates are actually reasonable because the dealer has to be competitive, in order to get people in the door, and they make recommendations on stuff that actually needs done
lol. lmao even
Just buy a new car duh
sounds like a dealership quote.
dealershits use this as a tactic to pressure you into buying a new car while simultaneously setting up the lowball trade offer. theres probably $200 worth of work wrong with your car
Simply ask them to point out where it says you need to purchase extra work for your warranty to be valid and tell them to be specific because you’ll be relaying their answer to any number of regulatory agencies.
what car?
02 lancer
it actually drives fine, although the camber is a bit off due to the struts. control arms been busted for at least 6 months and haven't noticed anything wrong there yet at least
Christian brothers
Well they're frickin you up the ass, I go the Honda dealer for a lot of stuff like fluids and labor for parts I bought online, and their rates are actually reasonable because the dealer has to be competitive, in order to get people in the door, and they make recommendations on stuff that actually needs done because an old piece of shit car is a moneymaker in itself if you know what to look for.
>Do people actually pay for all this shit?
moronic 50 year old karens will trust them. financially it makes sense for them to assume youre equally moronic and go for broke
I am the biggest wrenchlet and wtf scam shit place is this
>967 dollars for 2 pre-assembled struts
>For a fricking lancer
What in the goddamn am I reading
>bring it back for warranty
and they refuse to honor it. It's always been that way.
