Nah It was like a few seconds. Why do people assume if people make mistakes they instantly get fired?

        2. Do you even know what a HOT SECTION is or the Inspection?

ITT and EGT are Critical to engine health and longevity, and you *possibly* compromised that.

Yeah, youre fricked. I rebuild turbines as a hobby and even a few seconds above the EGT limit will permafrick the hot section which is where my projects mostly come from. I also buy dead engines that have lost paperwork, ate a bird or didnt get cooked by morons like (you) to get a 99.99% discount on the spicy bits, then i sell them back to the airlines but ihave a few rare/cool ones i keep to myself

I've seen engines trashed in "a few seconds".
The only way to know is to see what temperature it got up to and for how long. There's limits in the manual. Maybe they're exceeded, maybe not.

Same shit. All it takes is like 5 seconds of "too hot" to cook a turbine and the parts are mindbendingly expensive. Made that mistake a few times when i rebuilt my first engine, a solar T62

engines are supposed to be hot. just because its hot when you start it doesnt mean its going to blow up. the other dude here has no idea whats he's talking about. he probably asked chat gpt about it

      >literal first day on the job
Yeah you're fricked moron, should have paid attention and used the checklist.

Did you properly write up the incident? What was peak temp and for how long?

      3 seconds

And what does it have to do with the checklist? You’re supposed to introduce fuel at 22% N2 but I got nervous and did it early cause it was coming up so fast

        This makes no sense.
There's no "tight window"above 22% to activate fuel flow, but as you have learned the hard way, there is a Floor.

        >did it early cause it was coming up so fast
Sir its a MINIMUM ng% not a target.
On our PT6s for quick turns we even let them spin for a little bit until the ITT gets below 150 to get nice cool starts. By that point the ng% is well above starting mins. starters and batteries are magnitudes cheaper than hot section parts

    Ban all airlines.

There is no reason for commercial air travel.
    >enables mass immigration
    >frivolous travel and trips people don't need to take
    >props up grifters and the tourism industry which actually creates nothing
    >spreads diseases

If you really need to go someplace, just drive. If it's far, take a ship or a train.

    >but muh heckin time
If you can't take out time to go there it's proof you didn't need to take the trip in the first place. Taking time off work to go to Aruba or Greece for a week is a cope. You didn't really want to go there. You're just an npc that doesn't know what to do when he isn't waging.

Fake countries (that is to say no real industry) would starve which is a good thing.

I hate (commercial) airplanes. They are the busses of the sky and I HATE busses, bus riders, bus drivers and by extension air analogs of them. The Boeing Black person Express. The Airbus Arabian Eagle. The Embraer Shit Skin Slinger. All packed like sardines just to bring people from point A to point B. None of them have a good reason to go anywhere.

Canada would be 99.9% white were it not for air travel.

Only corporations should be allowed to operate private jets for transportation of specialists. The only air travel concept I see as valid was the Concorde which was high IQ people that actually valued time and knew to travel for an exact reason. People won't pissing around or going on joytides to see their 85 year old grandma for Thanksgiving. They paid deerly for a seat because they actually had places to go unlike 99.9999% of regular sky bus plebs.

yeah and i might take it a step further. convert all current airlines to be fitted with bomb bay doors. then do a genetic test of all people in the country and then find the indians and other people and stuff them in the planes (with parachutes) then drop them on their original countries. and additionally install anti-air defenses at the border to shoot down rogue thirdie planes because i can foresee them attempting to re-enter via aircraft.

this also applies for business people. we have the internet now. need to do something? do it online. the only things that needs air travel is freight.

      Wrong Jackass.
And the TERM that you were searching for was
      FADEC
      Go look it up yourself.

And Yes, HOT STARTS can still occur in FADEC-equipped aircraft.

      >A300/310 Run/Taxi Study Guide

      >Hot Start (A300-600 w/GE CF6-80
      >A hot start can be anticipated by observing an initial fuel flow greater than normal (greater than 700 pounds/hour) at the instant the HP fuel lever is placed in the position. After >light off, fuel flow will rise as needed to accelerate the engine to idle RPM. Normally this will be about 1600 PPH peak but will vary depending on weather conditions.

      >If hot start occurs, terminate starting cycle immediately by returning HP fuel lever to OFF position. Continue motoring engine to reduce EGT below 180 degrees C. If light off did >not occur spool engine for 30 seconds to purge engine of excess fuel.

      >CAUTION
      >Do not attempt a second start if fuel flow on initial start (prior to light-off) was above 700 PPH, or if maximum motoring speed was below 15% N2 or damage to engine could result.

Idk how you can frick up a turbine with a FADEC, the entire point of electronic fuel injection is to prevent the operator from doing something stupid

How does an operator induce one on that engine? Malfunctions happen but that's different.
