Tellermine takes about 150 kg to set off. That would limit your light 4 wheeler to 600 kg (1300 lbs) total maximum mass to not set off the mine. I highly doubt they are that light. Especially fully loaded with gear and troops.

Because they're conserving their better hardware for a war with NATO. They'll win Ukraine anyway, the West has abandoned them so it's inevitable, might as well use up those cheap golf carts and also get rid of their unwanted prison population. that wont be burned up in ukraine will be burned up in the baltic states and poland. Its inevitable and the biggest weakness of the already comically inept vatnikstan: they dont know when to stop and every war against them turns into a full blown extermination campaign for them. For they live in the fantasy land ww2 myth where if you throw enough meat and metal against the wall berlin is only two weeks away.

Instead of concern trolling and/or ass kveching about the vatnik union ongoing demolition derby start sweating how the burned wrecks will be replaced with brand new, built from scratch equipment. That's the legacy of ww2 in russian culture - if you call something "War", then it must be fought with all your might, disregarding losses, until nothing remains of either you or your enemy. Just like grandfathers did. Otherwise it's not a war.

Have you seen storage conditions at siberian long term storage bases?
They picked the good operable vehicles first. A lot of vehicles left in the base have either have parts removed to repair active duty vehicles, rusted or otherwise degraded.
Real life isn’t like one of your strategy games where if you have 100 tanks and lose 1 a day you have tanks for 100 days and then you run completely out and the front collapses.
Instead gradually lowering numbers of certain vehicles will gradually lead to them being used less and less to conserve them which in turn will lead to reduced combat effectiveness.
RTS games have been a disaster for military strategy discussion. I’ve seen people dividing the total number of males in the 18-60 bracket with the number of casualties, that’s how moronic people have gotten

That's the frickin' point. First they took what could be taken and used as is. But since the war is already in it third year, multiple factories are working on overtime to restore shit which couldn't be taken from storage as is. We can all point and laugh about the factory receiving an order to restore and refurbish 800 T-62 tanks, but those are still +800 tanks to russians, while nobody sends additional tanks to AFU.

            >Instead gradually lowering numbers of certain vehicles will gradually lead to them being used less and less to conserve them which in turn will lead to reduced combat effectiveness.
Your logic works when both sides are in the same position. They are not. Russia has 2 years worth of shitboxes in storage and industry to restore them. Ukies do not.

This does not include tanks received by Ukraine.

Countries that sent significant quantities of tanks include 330 tanks from Poland, 194+ tanks from Czechia, 92 tanks from Denmark, 65+ tanks delivered from Germany with a further 115 waiting to be delivered, 20 tanks from Morocco, 85 tanks from Netherlands, 31 tanks from North Madeconia, 28 tanks from Slovenia, among others.

the hulls they have remaining are the most shit ones that will take the most to fix if they can fix them at all.
What they have to look forward to is a fewer and fewer replacements of lower and lower quality. They can not sustain their current loss rates nor can they replace their more "modern" kit with the same quality.

            >would you start with the ones that are still in working order or the ones where the sealant failed and it's just a big rust tub?
            1. in the grand scheme of things, most if not all of those tanks, IFVs and APCs are shit for subhumans due to them being of soviet origin, if you don't believe me just take a look at how it was designed to be used (e.g. dismounting from BTRs, fuel-doors in BMPs, etc);
            2. they stopped believing in a fast decisive win and are playing this weird combination of materiel and political attrition;
            3. they supposedly want a new good attacking force (supposedly to capture Kharkiv), while also not allowing ukies to rest (which is what happened to AFU in 2022 - they didn't have shit for attacks due to lack of supply from EU and US, thus they had to wait, thus giant minefields and enemy prepared for defense), so something needs to be used for attacks, subhuman meat and chink golf carts are good enough for that;

It's became true again months ago due to US fricking over aid and EU not being able to produce shit. We're living in a clown world where European companies produce gun-cotton and sell it to russia (officially for non-military use), while European ammo manufacturers can't get enough of the stuff and are bottlenecked in production because of it. Nah, I'm not about the fricked up "they aren't sending their best" myth. The recent rumor is that russians are actively generating forces while also keeping the pressure on ukies, utilizing this approach they basically send disposable meat, send chink buggies, send t-62s and t-55s, while training "better" (by these standards) detachments in the rear for another offensive campaign on the Kharkiv direction, with the idea is that ukies are stripped for ammo and other crap due to lack of foreign support and thus they'll won't be able to prepare for it.
This kinda matches how Kharkiv is getting fricked over by bombs and missiles. They want to demolish it into an unlivable space, have civilians escape (creating more issues for ukies, because it's not like it's easy to deal with so many internal refugees), and then attack and take the city as final hurrah of major victory and by that point go for a peace deal which will frick over ukies. Trump is already pretty much leaked that his "peace deal" is to force ukie to give away shit to russia.

In an offensive operation you need as much troops as possible. Makes no sense to get rid of possible rear-guard tier troops just to "annoy" ukies, because rear-guard wont be effective in offensive operations and all you are doing is clogging up your own rear facilities with injured soldiers, wasted ammo and etc

There is no 4d chess strategy of just sending people to die. All this is desperation manifest.

Sounds like he's on the right track, prioritizing issues that resonate with the American people, defending their borders against an ongoing invasion rather than spending those dollars defending another country's borders they couldn't care less about. Not sure why that gets the panties of some satanic weirdos that spend all day circlejerking to snuff webms in a wad though. Y'all still living in Bush's America or something? France has now said they will ship all surplus to Ukraine and if everyone had done that from day 1 Ukraine would have far more equipment and possibly most of what they need. There has been no plan or long term coordination, and it has all been ad hoc with endless debates about every little thing. Each country trying to do as little as possible.

My country of Canada sent 4 billion inmilitary aid, which sounds significant but not really. Of value was some anti-tank guns, 8 leopard 2As, and 39 support apcs. Canada has 975 lav6s and we should have sent 250 to Ukraine. That would have made more impact. They need numbers and high volumes.

Every state should have dumped all their 60,s to 80’s gear as a start.

Ukraine knows better than anyone that any compromise they take will cause them more pain than trying to get all their land back. They won't stop regardless of the level of western support they receive, which very well might increase, despite all the shilling stating otherwise.

I don't think Ukraine really needs to defeat the Russian forces on its soil directly to win this war, much like how Afghanistan or North Vietnam didn't destroy all American troops during those wars. Ukraine just needs to hold out, and make the invasion too costly for Russia. They'll end up broken as well, but their opponent has proven without a shadow of a doubt to be a barbaric and completely untrustworthy shithole, so fighting to the end is the only reasonable choice.
Russia's latest attacks seem desperate - their losses are huge, while the territorial gains are small. They also have no proof that the Ukranians are suffering huge losses from this. They always say they do, like when they said Bakhmut left the AFU buck broken, but we can easily tell it's bullshit because 1. nothing on the battlefield indicates it to be true, and 2. the russians said.
I might turn out to be wrong, it's a complicated situation, so time will tell. But if the US begins to provide weapons again, and Ukraine keeps blowing up valuable targets deep inside Russia, they will be in a better position that Russia, who is rapidly running out of equipment and reserve funds. And I think there is a decent chance the US will provide the gibs.

When Putin dies there are plenty in Russia that would like to take the opportunity to blame him for everything and accept the loss of Crimea.
Zelensky has been planning for his own death by elevating the public profile of senior military leadership that will take over from him.

Who cares? What supply? Europe has MIC, that MIC doesn't do shit for ukies overall, as seen by ukie not having ammo for shit, with even mortars having to ration their stuff. They're back to 1:10 russian arty activity (during the best of times it was like 1:5 or 1:4), because the glorious european MIC collectively sent them less shells than russians bought from norks. It's a frickin' disgrace that Czechs have to basically run around through third-party sellers like SA and pajeets to buy stuff for them and other having to chip in. Or many Germany started new tank production for ukies? Or maybe US decided to send them 25 new Patriot complexes to cover shit from ballistic missiles? Nope, a best it's a 100 BTR-60s from Bulgarian old storage, which aren't that much better than golf carts (read up on those soviet shitboxes, if you don't believe me).

For russians? It sure is. They can get more meat easily, both local russians, local minorities and imported shitskins. While they can't really produce new tanks from scratch - all of their "production" is refurbishing and upgrading shells from storage. Sure, that storage is gigantic, but even with that it will run out way faster than the meat supply, so it makes sense for them to continue expending meat to deny AFU a chance to rest and prepare themselves better.

This is just genius moves by the commanders, this isn't Putin's idea
    >We have 10 ML-TBs, 10 BMP-1's, 5 BMP-2's
    >We can't tell high command we've lost these
    >So we buy civilian vehicles designed for off road use or other rough terrain and send our troops in these
    >These are not included in losses, aren't recorded on loss websites and we can still say we have our armoured vehicles around, so command thinks we're doing well
    >The guys who die are soon replaced and anyway, the hohols have lost ammo killing the previous waves, so we'll advance 15m this time
And it'll repeat until all of DPR/LPR is 'Russian' and then they'll declare victory.

The high command doesn't care as long as progress is made and if you don't record heavily vehicular losses, you're less likely to be defenestrated before you make those 'acceptable' gains.

It's an army that was inept gradually gaining competence and superior weaponry vs. an army that was inept and has now gone way beyond inept while losing every piece of equipment.
It's funny, but it's a very dark tragicomedy, one that will leave the viewer warped in ways he doesn't understand.

at my job there is a button at the soc desk that is under glass, and has a loud alarm when the glass is lifted
that button is the manual power cut to our server room
we had a guy that worked there for over 2 years press that button once in the middle of the night, his excuse was "i wanted to see what it did"
he was fired on the spot

Kek, had something similar happen at a small remote power plant.
3 big red buttons that each opened contactors and dropped generators from the grid for emergencies.
Guy on night shift hit it one night, we covered for him and said it was a faulty relay.

the guy that fired him was the one that had to stay there until noon the following day restoring everything. he said he would've taken almost any excuse besides i wanted to see what it did.

must be sad living in a world covered with shit, knowing there are civilised nations out there where everything isn't cloaked in garbage and you don't have to eat literal shit and smile about it. i can understand how this produces envy.

Neither white nor brown nor black nor yellow are insults, the greatest insult of all is achieving so little in life you can only point to those that share your race as proof someone that looks like can achieve things.

even brown people think brown is an insult because many of them subconsciously understand they are inferior and they have a massive complex about it.

supposedly trains have a big cultural significance for indians and are often portrayed in bollywood action movies where the hero walks in slow-mo with a train driving past. a sort of indian "cool guys don't look at explosions" kinda thing but with trains. naturally jeets try to immitate what they see on screen - hilarity ensues

    AND YOU MAY ASK YOURSELF
    HOW DO I WORK THIS?

      Anonymous

      >HOW DO I WORK THIS?
      Yeah, how?
You need flat and dry surface(concrete, asphalt) for a forklift to work. It's a luxury military simply can't rely on, because you probably have seen battlefield conditions yourself - it ranges from "deep track in the mud" to "mud so liquid it's a swamp". What tiny-wheeled, zero ground clearance, fricking electric piece of shit forklift can do there? Not even nothing, it will be a burden.
Maybe load stuff in pallets by forklift and unload by hand then? It's a pain in the ass, worse than both loading and unloading by hand, and wastes space.
Forklifts and pallets belong in large supermarkets and warehouses, where they indeed are widely used. Not in the army.

How are these different from jeeps? I don't see you fricks mocking the US or UK armies for using Jeeps for decades.

      Anonymous

Besides being tougher and faster? Last time I think Jeeps were used in proper warzones by the US to an almost notable degree was Desert Storm, but they were already in the process of being phased out by that point and that was against a much weaker adversary well before drones were such a menace. A Toyota technical would be a better option than what the Russians are using- actually frick the technical aspect, any pickup would be better. Even that horse back idea some Russian commanders were floating in 22 shines all that much brighter in comparison.

      Anonymous

They are the same as jeeps, the same thing the west was using 50 years ago.
The OG humvee was a hell of a lot better than a jeep but still soft, uparmored humvees were better still. Since then we have seen 3 generations of MRAPs.

It's funny becauses they are literally decades behind.

      Anonymous

jeeps where never meant to be used in assaults
they where for use behind the front line, for scouting or as a rapid reaction weapons platform (slap a recoilless rifle on it and you now made a units AT mobile).
the same goes for the humvee ect.
the war on terrorism fricked this over because now there wasn't a clear front/rear. That is why you then got the development of MRAPS to get ambush resistant vehicles that can at least shrug off light weapons fire and handle a rpg hit or even two.

Why this is stands out is that they are taking these civie vehicles and using them to assault known enemy positions. Taking completley unprotected vehicles, shoving them full of men and rushing them forwards. Where you know there are enemies, that you know are expecting you and on the one single route they can take to attack.

      Anonymous

Did the US or UK use them to rush trenchlines under constant drone observation?
When the vatniks showed they bought these shitboxes, most people here didn't give a shit since they assumed they would be used for logistics.
But some anons were wise in the ways of pidorussia, and correctly predicted that the dumbasses would use them for frontal assaults as well. It's not a problem of having an unarmored vehicle, everyone has them. The reason they deserve mockery is because of how fricking moronic they are in they way they use them.
