They secretly only want you to buy a civic and once they have you in a civic they try to sell you on their motorcycles.
Also the element is more based and weird but ridgelines are fine for what they are designed and marketed to do.

The max payload for the bed is 1500 lbs, so if it were to break it would be because it exceeded the max weight, which would happen to any truck.

In the time I've owned it, I've done nothing but replace some belts and other normal maintenance. Thing has never let me down once, and I'm gonna keep driving it until I cant find parts for it. It also makes for a good conversation piece, car guys hate the design but normal people think it's kinda cool.

They're good "trucks" for people who aren't in the trades.
I personally would never own one just because I have my preferences (TIB/TTB) but atleast the owners are honest about "I need a car that can do truck things without being stuck with a truck".

Do we define truck as a vehicle with a bed, a vehicle with a body on frame construction, or both?

Just get a crv with a hitch and a harbor freight 4x8 utility trailer and save yourself about 10 thousand.

Trailers are kinda silly at that size, and can take up too much space in a storage unit or small garage stall. Plus that's another thing to maintain, and you will NEED to be anal about the trailer bearings lest whatever you are towing become roadkill. Honda pretty clearly designed the thing as a moto-hauler and it works very well for that. I'm pretty sure my Ranger has less towing capacity and payload, too

My anecdotal experience, my buddy’s dad owned one forever, the body held up fairly well with some normal rust for the northeast, the engine was still strong nearing 300k miles when my buddy drove it. So find one that was taken care of if you like em

  20. 2 weeks ago
    Anonymous

It's arguably better for reliability than an old Tacoma but time will tell. You can drive them well into the 300k range with ease. I've seen more of them being driven by start up tradesman so they definitely have utility. However, you'll never do off roading with them, they are incredibly slow, and every truckgay will bust your balls (much fake truck). Driving one pretty much forces you to look at a truck as a utility vehicle and not some expression of yourself.

If the truck you are considering was ever owned in the rust belt this recall applies, failure of the testing procedure means it is not legal to drive in the states:
