Beat me to it. Even if the memes back then about them being bad were overblown, they are genuinely GARBAGE now. Same goes for GM. Both their engines are absolute appalling in their reliability and build quality. Are they intentionally sabotaging themselves or what?

I drove a roughly used Ford for the first time in my life recently and it was the rattiest shitbox I had ever seen with less than 100k miles and under twenty years old.
It was 100% whoever neglected it but good god they didn't care for that thing.

Zero serious issues, my last one was a 2014 fusion titanium- was totaled and .. then I get a bmw that’s been nothing but trouble since day one.

I have an 03 and 04 f150 with 600k between them and only the usual high milage issues (compressor, evap , fuel pump, timing set, etc etc). one is even a legendary 5.4 3v and it still runs perfectly. at work I have an 18 2.7 with 190k and the only real issues were the shitfrick radio (replaced with aftermarket) and having to do a set of coils every other sparkplug change (3 sets so far) because they keep shitting the bed every 50-60k for some reason.

      >I went from a 2010 civic to a 2024 e type and boy howdy is it unreliable!

Ok but BMWs are probably the only cars on Earth more porne to shitting themselves than Fords are. You got real lucky driving Fords for that long without issue.

They barely even make cars anymore.
Their EVs are awful and shit all over their own heritage. Nobody buys them anyway.
Ford Europe has basically died, even here in Switzerland you only really see trucks, vans and Mustangs, but Fords in generals have become rare as frick. The fantastic feel of the Parry-Jones era is long gone, and they failed to adapt to the upmarket kraut cars becoming more attainable.

I still remember when you could see Mondeos and Focuses everywhere. Now it's just the occasional Fiesta or van.
They tried to compete in the popular compact crossover segment with the Kuga (aka Escape), but the only chart it's been topping is the breakdowns by vehicle model chart. And the recalls just keep coming.

In the UK fiestas are pretty common (almost 1 on every street).
mk4 and earlier are super rare
mk5 you can find for under £1000 but conditions vary wildly as they tend to be 2nd-3rd hand first cars from teenagers (RIP clutch and troony)

mk6/7 up to 2017 are the ones to buy as super common and loads of spare parts
usual issues are general wear and tear on some valves and something to do with the exhaust vacuum pump. You can find a decent condition one for under £2500. (mostly 3rd/4th hand and with usual teenagers first car issues)

mk7.5 (post 2017) is just a mk6/7 just with the shitty touchscreen dash

Fiestas got replaced by the Puma because WRC regulations wanted a hybrid car (only lasted 3 years due to technical issues and lack of customer interest due to cost lmao). Puma has the usual ugly styling like all crossovers

Focuses are relatively common and 9/10 times the door seal is hanging out.

Mondeos are getting rarer but you can still get one for under £4000

Kuga comes with the usual SUVaggotry and if you want a people carrier just go with an S-Max or a C-Max

Pickup wise Ford Ranger are the best selling (12k+ a year) compared to other top 5 (Mitsubishi L200, Toyota Hilux, Nissan Nivara, Isuzu D-Max : all under 10k sales a year)

Electric cars are shite and are incredibly rare

Thoughts on me running gt rims on my falcoon? I like the 245 18x8 looks wise but they have zero grip under boost and its only making 5-10psi 350-400hp

Was gonna run wide body flares and spacers anyway 255 front i could get away with but i need at least 275 rear which is what my old 500hp donk made and just had grip

And to answer your question yes absolutely bolt a turbo to it. Do yanks get pulsar turbos? You can make your own kit with intercooler and bov and shit for under 2k usd easy!

They're fricking godawful. Papier-mâché transmissions backing either terribly unreliable (Ecoboost), horrifically expensive to operate (5.0), or both (Powerstroke) engines. They have some of the worst interiors of any modern vehicles with dogshit ergonomics and the absolute fricking worst iNfOtAiNmEnT the industry offers. They're overpriced, underengineered piles of dogshit that are eaten up by moronic, mouth breathing rednecks, Beckys, and Mexicans.

Literally nothing in their lineup is good value for cost. They're coasting on the Mustang being the last V8 "muscle car" and F Series sales as all of their shitty other vehicles flounder in saturated markets better served by a half dozen other brands.

You couldn't pay me to drive a Ford. I used to recommend them back in the late 00s and early 10s, but they've dropped off fricking HARD. Literally the only brands worse than them are the GM umbrella ones and that's a fricking achievement considering GM has spent 22 fricking years doing their god-damnest to obliterate any and all good will they ever mustered. They both managed to make Chrysler look like it was run by saints in comparison.

Only major faiiures in my fleet of Fords was trans failure on a 35 year old truck and AWD failure on my 160k mile Five Hundred that I still drive without issue with the AWD light on. The salt getting to them around the 30 year mark is what usually kills mine.

    I love ford's

They sell millions of cars a year, sure a couple thousand are going to have issues but overall I like the brand and I stand by them. Their higher end models are of course much higher quality, but 90% of Ford vehicles are just generic civilian cars that don't get talked about

      >The turn signals don’t keep a steady rhythm. Seems like a bad sign.
Factory installed future ground fault. Turn signals time themselves based off of relays, whether electromechanical or solid state. If the turn signal significantly changes pace, that means it's not handling electrical load very well.

This is a particularly bad issue in salt states because the ground points rust out, and then the vehicle loses its medium CANBUS module functionality all of a sudden.
