          i rest my case

          Anonymous

Monroe was Jefferson's apprentice, and had nothing to do with the declaration of independence because he didn't even meet Jefferson until about 1779.
Burr was the same, an understudy of Jefferson who had no influence in politics until years after independence.
Hamilton was a personal aide of Washington and only had an informal say in the goings-on of the continental congress.
Madison didn't have influence in federal politics until the 1780s.

Remember that although independence was declared in 1776, the actual formation of the modern federal government didn't happen until 1789. The founding fathers is a broad term referring to everyone involved from the declaration up to the creation of the current constitution, a 15~ timespan where multiple people dropped in and out of influence.

The gender wage gap is a myth. Every single time it's brought up they use a laughably unequal comparison as a reference point. It's always some shit like,

          >She started teaching English at Malcolm X College in Chicago last week
          >He has been teaching English at Harvard for 20 years
          >CAN YOU BELIEVE HE MAKES MORE THAN HER?

            Anonymous

Even worse are the disingenuous comparisons like
            >average male income is $83,000 per year
            >average female income is only $62,000, explain that gap!
Then when you point out men make up 99% of coal miner jobs they want STEM programs that boost women only. Then femoids have the sheer audacity to complain they're constantly making more money than men and can't find a guy who makes significantly more than them anymore.

      >Flood of repos hitting the Market and driving down prices spoon
Yeah, I'm sure dealers repo'ing 4 year old cars not maintained by ja'quavius or Some single mom with lip fillers are going to send them straight to auction because they're shit vehicles, then some kind reseller will buy them cheap for a modest profit and you'll finally get your pozmobile for $5000.
      >its not going to drive prices down
Because when dealers have used cars at 80% of new cars, they have an incentive to make sure used cars never get cheap again. Cars are built better and can last much longer with modest care, but dealers aren't collectively about to lose billions because morons buying $100k "dream cars" aren't paying anymore.

            >No one is stopping you from paying more.
            >He doesn't know
They are so evil that in a lot of mortgages they actually punish you with a fee for paying it off early as a way to ensure you don't screw them out of that fixed (of god forbid adjustable) rate. Everyone who brags about paying off a house is simply cope because it's their anchor and they aren't going anywhere for the rest of their lives.

            [...]
My Aunt was a moron who did this. She had to live in California and take every debt possible out for her education. She wasted 40 years paying off student loans and house/rental payments and all she has to show for it is a 1000 sq foot shitbox in a crowded city. She's "close to the beach" so it was worth it for her. Every drop of her social security will go to taxes (in the form of things just bought in california).

You can buy and sell houses, a lot easier to get into another house if yours is already owned.

past performance isn't indicative of future results :^)

Plenty of losers catch falling knives and sometimes it is not even their fault, just bad timing.

This is has been a process. And it’s just beginning. But basically I had a builder lined up to turn key me for $350k. I was going to get a mortgage like a good citizen. Than Covid than interest rates. Same builder quoted me 600k turn key for the same house. And the bank told me lol u actually need to make $200k/year now to afford this. And at 7% forget it.
So i found a concrete guy and a framer who are going to cash build it for 150k

It's a net drain on the economy. In many cases the debt was paid long ago but the interest sucks people dry like a vampire.

It literally makes no sense for the government to keep people in debt slavery to itself, people are just mad that it doesn't personally benefit themselves directly. Forgive the loans and let the free market flourish.

For example I once saw a dermatologist who had terrible skin conditions and he told me that antiperspirant deodorant was fine and food doesn't affect acne. why are people so fricking dumb?

the car, house, credit card payments you have is the BARE MINIMUM that you are legally allowed to pay.
These MINIMUM monthly payments accumulate the most interest for the bank.
When you buy a house on a 30 year loan, your house payment is the MINIMUM payment.
No one is stopping you from paying more.

I bought a house 3 years ago, took a 2.5% interest loan for $300k, my MINIMUM monthly payment is like $750. only moronic people will pay that MINIMUM payments. with those payments over 30 years, my interest would be $110k. It says right on your loan, how much interest your paying each month, and its like $500 in interest, and $300 towards your loan.
I pay $5-8k per month, I plan to pay it all off within a decade, my interest payments would be less than $15k.
if you cant afford to pay $5k per month on your house payment, then you cant afford a house.
    STOP PAYING MINIMUMS!

Long term capital gains maxes out at 15%, so that turns the after tax returns to 4.25% to 12.75%, in the worse case scenario. And that's ignoring Roth IRA which is not taxed.
So what that means is that if you have a 3% 30 year mortgage, and if you put $5000 towards the principal, then that saves you about 5000×1.03^30 = $12000 in 30 years. Meanwhile an index fund will return you about 10%, which is 5000×1.10^30=87000 in 30 years

Bruh there are tons of 600K-1M+ households all over Caligaylia. Tech + Medicine, which is a super common combo here, all of those couples are pulling easily 800K/yr.

        That's like 26K/month take-home after taxes.

And this doesn't even count as "rich" in California. Many neighborhoods here have an average home price of 9M+. You either need to be making 1M+ a year or have a serious nest egg to live in those places.

I think if you look at major metros there are tons households making multiple hundred thousands, since (at least in California) even social workers, nurses, cops, etc. all do like 100K+

            Cops do 200-400K+ here
            Nurses 150s-300K+

Pay the monthly amount and invest the rest that you would have put toward the principal. A 2.5% loan is great because it’s about the same as the average rate of inflation, and actually less than inflation has been the last few years, so the real value of the loan is decreasing anyway. Better to put it in stocks instead of paying a free loan.

Yes. Your loan is basically free money, the loan is depreciating at a rapid rate. Investing will net you the difference between the 2.5% and the return which will be higher.

If you pay off that loan any faster than you have to you are an idiot. You have a 2.5% loan, you will likely never get cheaper money in your life. >savings account at a garuntee 4.25%
These high rates only happened recently and will go back down when the fed lowers interest rate, forcing the banks to pull back on their interest rates.
I agree with you though, if you have such a low interest rate on your mortgage, it makes sense to have your money work for you instead of paying down the house (assuming you don't plan on selling early because house mortgage amortization schedules are so fricked and you're mostly paying interest at the start in lieu of buying into your share of the property).

        >it makes no sense to own your house

Nah, you're even more moronic. Losing your job doesn't make you lose your investments. If you can't afford to pay off your house, don't buy it. Simple it. (ok, this last comment was tongue-in-cheek, and I'm only half serious).

Theres a ton of people that think covid is still going on and people are paying $10k over msrp. Just head to craigslist or whatever and look at the insane car prices. Project cars of rusty chassis' only at $10k, 150k mile trucks at 75% of new price, and brand new vehicles $40k over dealership sticker.

Its clear some people got brand new cars at "zero percent interest" only to find out they can't afford the monthly payment 2 years later.

You should try driving in my neighborhood. Its really dodgy in a sedan or sports car, especially if it has a long hood. cant see shit past the suvs and vans with tinted windows, hood sticks out in the lane before you can see if there's a car coming also asians sometimes drive in the middle of the road and I have to run over curbs to avoid them. My lifted SUV is pretty good. Last time I drove a sedan around here was 5 years ago. Ironically, I keep an old sedan at my brother's rural property for off-road driving.

Of course the rear suspension is blown and sagging on that Taurus. They’re ALL like that.

Story time: I knew this chick and she did US Embassy work and at one time was stationed in the Russian Federation. I dunno if she was in Vladiovostok, St. Petersburg, or Moscow, but she drove a 90s era Ford Taurus wagon. You know the one.

Some guy at the embassy bought an expensive BMW or Mercedes and scoffed at her Taurus wagon. He openly mocked her for it while she was hauling her two small children in it. She said something about karma to him and how he needs to be nice to others or the universe will punish him in order to seek a balance.

Of course the Russian mob stole this guy’s expensive BMW (or Mercedes; I don’t remember exactly which one or model) and the embassy Marine guards told him they can’t help him because they didn’t like him either.

He had to buy a Ford Taurus after that.

      Karma’s a b***h only if you are.

The reason your groceries cost so much is because you're buying 50 dollars worth of processed junk food. The only thing in her collection that has disproportionately increased in price is the meat. In 2024 dollars that's about $140 worth of groceries

The government shouldn't be making ~~*interest*~~ off the people

What do you think taxes are? Student loans are just another tax at the end of the day, according to the government. Same as Obamacare and social security.

They can't pass it. Because the loan program is tied to funding obamacare. So in order to disband the loan program they would also have to amend obamacare and make up tbe funding of frick over non college grads even more as the costs pass along.

Loan program was passed in the late 70s by the Carter administration. The DNC held an unbroken congressional (both house and senate) majority from 1957 until 19-fricking-96 (actually from 1933 until 1996, the four years where the GOP held a majority in the mid 50s were an anomaly), and again from 2006 until 2010. Obamacare was the ONLY thing they passed during the 2 years of Obama's presidency where the DNC held every branch of government. If student loans are tied to Obamacare, it's their own damn fault.

How does that stop the initial problem of people taking predatory loans. Hell states put caps on apr for vehicles and all dealers mostly do to go around it is either breaking it into multiple loans or extending the loan time. Why wouldn't student loans do they same, they have the same types of high interest super long term stuff. Plus what about tje people directly after the loans are forgiven.

Why exactly does a tahoe cost that much anyway? It and the burb are both just pickups with a built-in topper.

Not anymore (they have IRS and distinctly different interiors), and they have no equivalent to the low spec trucks so they start at 58k. You can get a 6.2 High Country to $95,000.

I regularly return things that I buy and don't need because it's part of the customer service offered at stores, don't act like it's some kind of burden. Does it make me a woman to buy multiple variants of parts before wrenching in case of fitment issues and then returning the ones I don't need?

They need to keep doing this. We need an automotive crash on the level of the housing crash. There's no fricking reason the median average car MSRP should be the $40k range. Car inflation has blasted past most other categories of consumer good's inflation

Do you guys think any customers at these ghetto car lots ever stop to think (silly question so far) that they're about to sign a contract to pay 10-20x what a car is worth over 7 years? Or is the thought process

faceberg marketplace is a fricking weird place where I live. Saw a clearly wrecked, neglected, and abused motorcycle listed for $1000, looked like it was photographed in a landfill with all the garbage, scrap, and abandoned "projects" nearby. 30 year old bike in awful condition. listing says "need this gone asap". I offered $100 to counter his $1000 listing.
          >you need to pay me more den dat doe
was his exact reply. I deleted my FB profile knowing this was the type of moron I'd have to deal with there.

That was after 3 "runs good, just need a battery" listings I tried to get for reasonable prices. All mexican, basically no english titulo limpio bullshit.

I fully understand why people overpay at dealerships now. Wading through the no english immigrants, and no english blacks makes me want to pay more to avoid them.

That's their main problem; they are too low IQ to imagine/realize what their choices could mean for them in the future.

The shit is a scam, they get business loans and investment because they serve the poor/minority groups and when they go under they transfer ownership to someone else in the family then repeat the process.

Again, he has no mental permanence. He is an entity that exists right now. He has the memories fo other entities that occupied his body at previous times, but he is not the same as the future man that has to deal with breakdowns or payments or repo. Hes enjoying a nice car and if it fricks over some future entities who cares, They are jerks anyways

You aren't aware of what these dealerships do. The 84 month terms are probably wrong, but its very much well known those types of dealerships charge a monthly payment of about what they paid for the car at auction. First time it "sells" they've broken even. Any peyments after that are 100% profit. Then they have to repo it, then plop it on the lot again to resell.

uhhhhm no, sweaty. A used car? Sounds like you're begging for a breakdown. Its not big enough for her and her 3 sons. Also its very low to the ground, thats just begging to get killed if someone hits you. Plus it looks like a dog taking a shit. That lifted suburban with 22" wheels and off road tires is the perfect commuter vehicle. It can fit all the groceries, and carry her sons.

Besides, she works really hard to provide for her sons and deserves something nice. Banks and corporations are just greedy, why can't she just have that stuff for free? Baby daddies don't pay child support so its all on her as a single mother being a fierce bossbabe!
