GMT800 is a pretty good one. EV1 should've been the catalyst to start American EV dominance. Crown Vic could handle hooning and rough service its whole life. The old Grand Caravans were as cheap as they were practical. American V8 vans last forever to the point that people have stories of the sheer amount of neglect they'll survive, even if it drinks oil like fuel.

Fricking cope. Only the Z06 is being marked up, and even then it's usually around $140,000, which is $30,000 more than MSRP. You can find base model C8 corvette's all day long with out markup.

I go to a lot of track days throughout the year. Out of the 17 C8’s that I’ve seen on track 6 of them had catastrophic engine failure, 4 had transmissions grenade themselves. That’s really shitty statistics for a car that’s supposed to be able to handle being beat on.

      Anonymous

If this is true, I'd be willing to bet they weren't z51s that had issues. Base c8 doesn't have enough cooling for track duty.

      Anonymous

      >That’s really shitty statistics for a car that’s supposed to be able to handle being beat on
Corvettes have always been golf club carriers that can be used occasionally on a track. Even with a track pack they're in no way a track car. Pretty sure it says right in the manual that they're not intended for serious track use or racing. It's also a first gen product from GM none the less which is a really bad idea.

        Anonymous

        >Even with a track pack they're in no way a track car.
It is, and has been for decades.
        >Pretty sure it says right in the manual that they're not intended for serious track use or racing.
There are pages worth of track prep and procedures in the manual. Z51 equipped cars are absolutely track ready and will be covered under warranty for that use.

dude, have you checked the fineprint on those track-focused top-of-the-line burgering-record-holding cars?
It says that porsche decides what tear and wear on track days they cover
and even if you don't track your car, the warranty isn't tranferable unless they agree to it.

Mid engine? It's probably a great Corvette. Probably the best Corvette ever. It's just not a muscle car. So I guess it depends on what you want. Harley Davidson has the same problem, do you wanna make something good or do you wanna make something that pleases the oldest parts of your consumer base.

The big issue is just in the minor things, like trying to constantly push onstar subscriptions and stuff onto you. The interior quality is nicer than normal but still uses notably lower quality material for mass production than hyper luxury brands like Ferrari.

It’s still a great deal, but you have to deal with Chevy dealerships and typical GM israeliteery
