John deere is the best example of anti right to repair

Right to repair is bound to european union. Even mobile phones will fall back to self replaceable batteries

Yes we know. And this PROPOSAL would just ban unknown origin cars (read: stolen vehicles, sewn together in romania or ukraine) coming back to europe

            >stolen vehicles, sewn together in romania
Gypsy prajeets do that in europe as well as in Canada now. Indian gangs do this in Canada now.

Why would you buy john deere when you can buy massey ferguson or valtra

He means John Deere in America have almost created a monopoly on tractors by forcing farmers to buy new ones that only can be serviced by them instead of local mechanics.

That's only for IN WARRANTY repairs. If you want Deere to cover the repair you have to have on of their certified techs fix it. You can still legally do the repair yourself but if you damage the part that needs fixing it would void that warranty

But this hurt a lot of farmers who relied on maintaining their equipment on their own with the help of locals.

            Anonymous

They can't still fricking do that but it's reasonable to say it would void the warranty
You can't just damage something and expect the warranty to cover it

      >Slap taxes and tarrifs on new cars to make them cost too much for poors

      Also EU
      >Effectively ban cheaper used cars for the poors

      Also also EU
      >Subsidize inherently expensive electric cars so that they still remain out of financial reach for poors but cheaper for the well off.

Frick this gay "Union". Good for nothing.

Plainly obvious they're pricing people out of private transport by making repairs of older cars illegal, mandating extra safety equipment, and stricter eco requirements.

I'm thinking you're correct. Too much talk about sacrificing productivity for muh climate, also where agriculture and industry is concerned. This'll gut the working class, especially the rural one who can't relocate closer to work, but it looks like they consider it a boon rather than an unfortunate side effect.

If EU bans older cars, this would affect their sales in places like south america (we literally keep those frickers with light on) because we are too poor to afford buying new every few years, and no one will accept a car that you need to trash in just 15 years.

Really depends on your car. Modern cars have sensors that simple are unreplaceable.
I remember watching a video about one of those lardmobiles, I think it was a ford, and someone hit the rear blinker damaging the parking sensor inside the blinker. IT WAS 7K!

A friend of mine got a stone chip on his adaptive cruiser control/radar sensor. This stone chip broke the sensor and flipped a check engine light because it disables the Automated emergency braking system (Mandatory for all vehicles made after 2022 and must be working or the car has to be taken off the road). The sensor had to be replaced and calibrated costing well in excess of £1000.

Let's also create an insurmountable amount of waste to save the planet and force everyone to use shitty public transport. Oh wait the vehicles responsible for public transport are also too old to be repaired. Well I guess we'll just walk. I'm nearing my breaking point with these morons.

I mean this agenda has been in the works for some time now, feels like step 15 of maybe 100
Their goal is flat out banning combustible engines in 2035 you know. most countries are somewhat on board with it as well, but the time table is shaky for everyone for obvious reasons.

  47. 2 months ago
    Anonymous

The monetary cost of something represents the energy cost of it's creation, directly co-related with its environmental impact. Resource extraction, processing, labour, transportation; all have energy costs.
If an electric car costs more than a combustion then it is worse environmentally.
If lab meat costs more than solar powered, it is worse environmentally.

    This is fact.
