It did, but the founder hadn't had enough yet so he had to start over again, and go bankrupt a second time.

Why didn't the government bail them out like ICE manufacturers?

Unlike in 2008, the president doesn't have any friends he wants to save from bankruptcy

the bailout was nothing more than a nationalization of GM to force the company with good engineers to make whatever the government wants.

        Anonymous

GM is in a way better position now than it was in 2008 but that's mostly because they've been asset stripped to the core and moved 90% of passenger vehicle production to China. In 2008 they had like 20 brands, now GM is litearlly just Chevy, GMC, Cadillac and Buick

not enough institutional momentum. fisker doesn't do a lot of sales and their executives don't bribe politicians with cash, adrenochrome, and child sex slaves.

There were literally hundreds of automobile manufacturers in the U.S. before WWII.
They were all tasked with making tanks and boats and munitions and shit for the war effort and afterwards the owners took their profits and retired instead of retooling their plants back to cars or just outright sold their facilities to a larger manufacturer so after the war only the Big 3 remained.

      It's a constant cycle.
Same thing happened with desktop computers.

nah, they were owned by a Chinese company called NEVS, which produced a few cars but never really got off the ground. Evergrande bought and liquidated them. I think the automotive rights to the Saab name are back in aerospace Saab's hands now

The solar panel companies are going out of business, too. The fricking government subsidies have finally dried up. Eventually, all companies that are based on a bullshit scam, wither and die.

There's over 11,000 solar companies in the USA. A couple going out of business won't really affect the trend.

    Difference between power supply cars
    100 years ago and today

    1924
    Early Gasoline
    Diesel
    Electric
    Steam
    Seed cooking oil

    2024
    Currently Petrol
    Propane
    Diesel
    Hybrid/E-fuel
    Electric
    Hydrogen

But yet why is it Electric is the only one being pushed down our throat?

Because electric is the only one that will reduce emissions and is scalable.

No. A couple years back when Tesla took off, everybody and their mom decided to start an EV business to be the "tesla killer". Now that the hype is wearing off and OEMs are getting into EVs, most of these companies don't have a purpose and are dying. There's been some other bankruptcies in the sector like with Lordstown Motors has gone bankrupt and Faraday Future got delisted, so on and so forth. Despite this, EV sales are actually growing. The only reason the overall sector took a hit is because Tesla sales are absolutely shitting themselves. And rightfully so, their cars are garbage.

Meanwhile Tesla and BYD sales keep growing, the rate of electrification keeps going up and BYD is now starting to aggressively advertise in Europe.
