From my experience at the dealership you have to just play dumb otherwise they will try and find any reason to avoid doing warranty work, which includes calling you a liar. Was getting wind noise in my car at 40+ mph, they had it for a few days and told me they couldn't replicate the issue. I went on identifix and printed out a tsb describing the exact issue I was having, and when I went to go get my car I immediately spoke to the service manager where we had a pissing contest accusing each other that we're full of shit. He got mad and insisted we went on a test drive, 5 minutes into the drive on the freeway it was as loud as could be. His attitude did a complete 180 and he was embarrassed, trying to hurry back to the dealership. Got my car back a few days later and they actually made the problem worse, brought it back in again and that time they actually fixed it. Which is funny, because they only had one more opportunity to fix it after that before I could legally lemon law the car.

A few months later I brought my car into the shop to do an inspection before a road trip, and I found that I was leaking oil and transmission fluid. 17k miles on the car at the time, ridiculous. I said frick the other dealership and went out of my way to another dealer who had good reviews, I knew that the leaks were coming from the oil pan and the axle seal but I wanted to test them so all I said was there were a couple leaks. They found them and fixed them right the first time, so they earned my business even though they're 20 more miles away than my closest dealer.

Moral of the story do your research on where you're going to have someone work on your car. Find the place with the least negative reviews, and for the ones that are negative look at how the owner responds to it. If it's just some automated "we're sorry, please call us" response walk away.

same here i'd rather drive 30miles to a VW dealership to get my car fixed rather than trusting my local dealer. At my local dealer there are a bunch of hispanics working there while the one i go to is full of whites. i trust white people more than i ever will trusting a Hispanic. Ironically i am mexican myself and i hate other hispanic people. i fix my own car but there are something i cant do because i need a lift. i do not trust some of my local independent repair shops either. a lot of mechanics dont give a frick and hate their job. i dont blame them because auto mechanic is a shitty job but dont take it out on my car.

It's beyond Subaru Anon, Honda and Ford, makers of reliable big boi 4 cylinders in the past, cannot delivery a 1.5T engine that doesn't blow the frick out way before its time, I blame emissions, they're squeezing so much out of these cars, there's shit tons of boost, Honda refuses to acknowledge the fact that a Honda Accord running 20 pounds of boost should really be running the highest octane fricking fuel you can possibly put in the tank, that's what I'm suspicious of when it comes to these boosty boi engines blowing out for no reason.

      Anonymous

They financed it, were hella underwater like post payment losers are, wanted something new, just couldn't live without it, so they go and finance the difference of what they're underwater for plus the cost of the new car with interest and whatever else shit they get sold on because they're an emotional buyer, and that's how the amount financed gets so high.

        >finance

I just dont understand why. They trade an econobox for an econobox and decide to finance over a lease? At least with the lease they would just be stuck with that negative equity debt for 3 years max and restart. 1k for SEVEN (7) fricking years is insane. A fricking camry lmao

These people cannot help themselves Anon, we get mad a israelites and banks and whatnot, but it's the people that are the problem, the debtor is a problem, that's why stopped feeling bad when there's a recession or people's lives fall apart because they borrowed a shit ton of money on stuff that isn't even worth that anymore, these people are the personification of greed, they're not even people I would want to be standing next to because someone who cares this much about what they're driving and will borrow to the hilt to do it is not someone I would want to be associating with.

        >Financing and swapping out every 3 years is insane.
My mom used to trade cars in every two years, but used the same dealership every time. She was never underwater and it made her credit score shoot through the roof. There's a right and wrong way to do this. Then again this was in the 90's so who the frick knows anymore.

          Anonymous

Things were relatively affordable back in the 90s, 2000s, and even 2010s, It wasn't until post covid did we see the art of the markup make its way from riced out specialty Civics to a regular economy car that people were supposed to buy, suddenly a $31,000 Honda became a $36,000 car because reasons, and a used 2014 Honda that should've gone for 10-12 grand became 17 or 18 grand, so now you have these masses of people overpaying more for cars than it was really worth from jump street before the deprecation has it, and that's how you have people hugely underwater on cars even if their credit is decent, the value of the car just isn't there after they buy it.

  7. 3 weeks ago

Oh these debtors see the OTD, the fees, the everything, they're just so fricked in the head, that they think being able to fit the payment in their budget is "making it".

They need to financially die honestly, I'm rooting for total debtor death, millions must be repossessed or foreclosed upon, because these people are ruining the lives for everyone else around them with their fake money by inflating the cost of everything that that can't afford because they don't care how, they want it right now.
