All the F150s in my area going for ~$25k have 100k+ miles on them.

Mexico will have them. You can keep it nominee registered out of Mexico and hope he doesn't report "his property" stolen, you can have the dealership forge the paperwork and import it as a Tacoma, or you can VIN swap it with a Tacoma (preferably a totaled one that hasn't been salvage titled yet).

            Anonymous

            >you can have the dealership forge the paperwork and import it as a Tacoma, or you can VIN swap it with a Tacoma (preferably a totaled one that hasn't been salvage titled yet).
Specifically my point, if you REALLY want one, VIN swap with something existing like an old hilux or whatever

            Anonymous

I wouldn't swap it with something old, then you have to convince the cop that pulls you over that your 2024 Jimny is a full body kitted and engine swapped 1988 Samurai. Even worse if your state requires smog checks, the mechanic will certainly know something is up.

With the Toyota at least you could swap it with a 2004 Taco and claim it's a body kit. But if you had a 2004 Taco just keep that, you'd have to find a way to make it economically viable by finding one that's just someone's rust bucket that will never run again or a parts car sitting in a junkyard that they'll sell you the frame/title, then just take the VIN plate and sell it for scrap keeping the title. You're basically passing the gray market imported car you drove over here as a Mexican rental off as the registered car you bought. Many state DMVs have methods in place to prevent this, when I moved back to CA from AZ the DMV inspected my car before allowing me to register it in state again, even though I had bought it there and had it registered previously. Opened the hood and everything, so you may want to take it to get registered as the old car first before binning it. It's a complicated process to actually do. The government is just a massive hindrance whenever you want to do something cool. They force us to live as cucked homosexuals.

            Anonymous

Sure, I get your point, but if you REALLY want one of whatever that toyota was called, there's a way. It's not easy, it's not economically viable or all legal, but there is a way if the previous anon really wants one

            Anonymous

I mean, he wants to drive it on the road as his vehicle I presume. If that's not legal or made legal, it's not really viable to get the vehicle. You'll have to settle for some regulationshit we already have here.

Speaking of new Toyotas, I was gonna buy a new 4Runner. Not sure if it’s a good buy. Wanted a full size truck but the prices are absurd and I was planning on getting a used diesel down the road anyways. Just need a daily and for light off-roading

      Anonymous

Wait for the 2024 Landcruiser to come out in April (realistically you'll have to wait until later since so many will buy the first few batches). 4runner is a gas guzzling fatass. Depending how light your "off-roading" is you could just get a Rav4 or fricking Corolla Cross, but both require a spacer lift, better tires, and a skid plate right off the bat unless you're just on-pathing. Subaru & Mazda have better options for semi-offroad capable crossovers anyway, Toyota is inflating its prices for pretty basic featured vehicles. Always do the lift kit and skid plate if you intend to actually go off a path.

This will eventually come to Mexico where I will go buy one and pay an immigrant to drive it across the border and register it as his one migrant car.

If you trust a beanshit to be your nominee registered owner, he will steal your car. Even paying a random one to deliver it is a risk. Stealing cars is a hobby to their people. Monkey no ethics. Drive it across yourself and buy a wrecked Tacoma frame that hasn't been salvage titled, tell the junkyard they can keep all the parts or part them off yourself. Remove the VIN plates and sell it for scrap metal. You don't even have to use that VIN plate if it gets messed up, buy a replacement VIN plate online. Swap the VINs, you could even go as far as to remove all the hidden VINs but you have to find out where they are (some only FBI agents & detectives know according to one I know but I'm sure it's just online). Get one as close to your model year as possible since your vehicle will look new. Usually, nobody looks nobody cares. You'll only get caught by an overzealous highway patrolman or smog check guy.

We will almost certainly not get this in the US, but there's supposedly a Landcruiser mini being revealed 2024. It's most likely this which is set to start shipping in UAE this month. They haven't revealed what it is to us other than said a Landcruiser mini will come out, around the same size as the Corolla Cross but taller. No word on whether or not it's a sleek 2-door or fat fatty fatass 4-door. Supposed to be a Jimny competitor but it's reportedly quite a bit longer.

Because our leadership hates us and won't let us have cool practical things. But mainly because the Japs just didn't bribe them enough to let them import it.

That is rare gold everywhere. Meant for Saudi princes with attendant Toyota dealer who can pummel head office (with money) enough to get them to wheel grandpa out of his nursery home and into the body plant for another limited run.
