Objectively yes. Thanks to China jumping the gun and trying to take over the auto industry way before they were ready, their EVs get tariffed to hell which causes the last hope for EVs (actually cheap EVs) to die off. Toyota won and the world is going into a multi-powered state, so V8s will exist as higher trim/special vehicles while commuters will be hybrids

I would add that larger trucks will always have a v8 option.

I also want to see economy turbos to be done away with. They greatly reduce the number of miles the engine can endure.

its a european "V8" so it likely has no more than 4.0.

It says 4.0 twin turbo V8 with a mild hybrid system
I have no idea what this means as an Amerimutt, i only know of big V8s and big supercharged V8s.

For such a small engine, why bother with the two extra cylinders?

500cc is the optimum volume per cylinder.

            isnt 0.5l a cylinder a sweet spot for torque/power

            >Yurop could be making 6L v12s to swap into vettes but they hate nuclear energy and are obsessed with bullying serfs so instead they throw 4cyl in everything.
            For what purpose

          Tax brackets in China, that's why euro manufacturers all have a 1.5 3 cyliner, 2.0 4 cylinder, 3.0 6 cylinder and 4.0 V8

Just bring back the cylinder deactivation to keep the greens happy. Much better than trying to force turbos with hybrids.

N/A V8 vs I4 with turbocharger (or even 2 turbochargers)

For that you have already forgotten about : torque and engine durability

100 fewer HP when the 4 cylinder, for a little bit, then the 4 cylinder falls down to 14 hp less than the V8
