If it's the automatic, like 2%. Otherwise the drivetrains are pretty solid

Depends, have they already replaced the exhaust valves?

C5 and C6 Z06s are both manual only, autos weren't available until the C7.

on the cheapest ones? probably not
according to GM dropping valves is very rare

No it isn't. Ls7 is well known in the community to have problems specifically with the bronze valve guides.

          nah, that's a meme.
a GM engineer on LS1 tech said only 1.61% of LS7 dropped valves.
early models had the heads machined wrong by a 3rd party vender.
kinda like the so called "exploding" LS1 rocker needle bearing issue that was basically non existent.

it's the owner's fault 99% of the time.

IN THE WARRANTY PERIOD. Dumb frick. He had no way of knowing what happened afterward and he admitted it.At least read the forum if you're going to parrot it.

the engine warranty was 100k miles are you saying it needed 100,001 miles to blow up

As someone who owned a C6Z6, yes it has issues I had 2 cases of dropped valves and 1 blown rod in 95k miles before I got rid of it.

ITT: things LS fanboys will NEVER mention when they're shilling their pushrod valvetrains

      Anonymous

      To add to that:

      Bent pushrods
      Bad lifters (even aftermarket ones)
Oiling issues (oil pumps, oil pickups that starve the pump on launches, and oil pickup o rings that give low oil pressure at high miles)
Ridiculous core costs if it's a alum motor that came in a sports car (Corvette/Camaro blocks are 3-5x what a truck motor runs for)

        Anonymous

You forgot about the plastic "dog bone" that goes bad and lets all the oil pressure back into the sump

Spinning cam bearings and munching out the cam bore too - you forgot that
