Tacomas should be cost-comparable with Ford Mavericks, not F-150s. Yes, Tacomas have a higher tow capacity. No, they don't have an F-150 tow capacity. Tacoma Limited is 52 grand and should be 40.

I would say the tacoma should compete directly with the ranger since it's body on frame. The maverick is a unibody closer to a baja.

The cheapest Tacoma is cheaper than the cheapest Ranger

People bought Tacomas for reliability. This one change made it clear that Toyota no longer prioritizes it. Plus the moron markups taking advantage of the brand name that relies on that reliability.

No you don't. You think you do because they aren't available. You're in the same group of people that "wanted" a Fiesta until Ford started selling them in the US

          Ok smart guy.
Tell me why I wouldn't want a hilux.

Less head room a hilux is 38" in the front and 37" in the back
A Tacoma is 40" in the front and 38" in the back
            Same with legroom
The hilux is designed for 5ft Asians

It's simply pricing. Who tf wants to pay 45k for a base model midsized truck?
Who wants to pay 55k for a base model quarter ton truck?
At least the Tacoma is a good truck, the Tundra team fricked up so badly it's unbelievable.
How can you jeopardize your reputation for reliability by shitting out the v6 iforce with bad waste gates, bad fuel economy and now some of them are spinning crank shaft bearings.

YoY of course it will be down 60%. It was an FMC and production has been fricked. However, they aren't moving as much as the old, but down 60% is a bit of hyperbole when you consider the production challenges.

Also the Tundra.... It's worse than you think.

It's the main bearings and we've had cases where the 3rd engine has blown up.

Was believed initially be a sub 1% failure rate but now becoming obvious that it is far greater than that lol. It's a disaster. New Tacoma I'm hopeful for.

It's really disappointing because this truck is competitive in both price and power to the D3.

it's 60% the stupid ass 4 cylinder and 40% the price. i was in the market for a new truck recently and once i saw those two things i immediately wrote tacomas off my list, despite what i considered to be greatly improved exterior and interior styling.

Turns out no one wants to pay V8 half ton money for a 4 banger midsize
