Exactly, what do you not understand here?

Every generation says without some obsolete technology, it's not an enthusiast car lel.

        Anonymous

That is literally moronic, until the mid 2000s cars were just getting better and i haven't hears once complaining about it, the complaining started when the manufacturers started putting in serious user hostile crap, and the appliances are the epitome of that, you can't do shit with that. I wouldn't be surprised if putting a body kit on voids your warranty.

Lmao you don't think people said fuel injected engines weren't real enthusiast cars versus carburetors?

So what, you can switch the computer, you can swap the injectors, you can swap the fuel pump, you can do whateve the frick you want with that system, you can't do shit with an appliance. Being a car enthusiast is either collecting cars (for which they should have some significance) or tinkering with cars (for which you need to be able to).
EVs are not enthusiast vehicles, they are just a mode of transport.

            >So what, you can switch the computer
A computer with proprietary software from the manufacturer controls your car's fuel intake?
What about electronic throttle bodies, in which some software controls how much air intake the engine gets?
Can a car really be considered enthusiast if some electronic software controls how fast your car goes?
One can easily drawn the line and say carburetors and mechanical throttle bodies are the line where enthusiast vehicle ends and npc appliance begins.

            That's true, sunglasses man.

Sunglasses man will die out soon. No one but sunglasses man thinks EVs shouldn't be considered enthusiast cars.

It has to be fixable and moddable by you entirely. ICE cars are just more inclined towards that as they are generally simpler. EVs' drivetrains are non-servicable zappy-zappy black boxes that won't work if you throw your 20-way adjustable seats and heated cupholders out.
