I don't see it ever happening. Way too dangerous for everyone.

Could only ever really happen if the flying cars were mostly autonomous and not vulnerable to stuff like drunk drivers or kamikaze teenagers. Making them fully autonomous wouldn’t be hard, it’s how lots of smaller drones or even very large jets fly today. You’d probably also want a ballistic parachute for the whole craft that the passenger can deploy manually in an emergency, so the passenger retains a bit of minimum necessary control. None of those problems are insurmountable

Like most other aircraft, the majority of crashes will be right around takeoff/landing. The only use for a parachute at low altitude is as a burial shroud.

The land of rules about everything makes rules about flying cars before everybody else does. Big surprise.

Flying cars won't be a thing for anybody but the exorbitantly wealthy in our lifetime. Besides the upfront cost, there's a huge amount of investment in upkeep and maintenance that 99% of people won't have the money or the patience for. Most people don't have their car worked on until something goes seriously wrong with it. If you wait until something goes seriously wrong with your flying car to get it worked on odds are they'll be scraping you into a casket.

This is what flying car morons don't seem to get, the cost of every single aspect of owning a flying vehicle is exponentially more expensive than something that doesn't leave the ground.

This kind of aircraft is unsafe for dozens of reasons: the propellers can stall easily (they drop like a giant rock depending on the wind), the batteries are the same inflammable crap that is used in EVs, it can't cruise or auto-rotate in case of any kind of faliure but at least some of them have parachutes, ... maybe this is concern trolling but still they are poorly engineered.

Maybe it's on purpose because the israelites gain something from this.

        >Can't auto-rotate
Let's pretend I'm moronic, why couldn't they? Auto-rotation is just a matter of getting enough airflow over the propeller to keep to keep it moving, isn't it?

It is unstable by nature and has to constantly fine tune the RPM of each motors to move around and sustain itself upright, if a major shit happens it just flips and falls.

Here in America we're not interested in any development. Because it gets in the way of the system we have that requires cheap unlimited foreign labour. Like how slaves were needed in Rome. You don't need to innovate when you can just get more slaves.

Great, instead of forcing people to be responsible for themselves we're going to pass the buck to somebody else again. This is just as stupid as making bartenders responsible for drunk drivers, if you act a fricking moron nobody is responsible for your moronation but you.

They should just be completely autonomous, and refuse to take off during bad weather conditions. Autonomous aerial vehicles are much simpler than cars on roads.
