Why does everyone accuse the intelligence agencies when the real culprits are oftentimes just opportunistic scholars with technology they don't understand?

See, that's why I bought a chink EV. Would rather them spying on me and harvesting my data than my own government.

It has a backdoor for anyone and everyone. Just assume anything you do in your car is not private.

rumao, who programmed this shit. If it's for safety reasons they simply should've not allowed trunk to be opened via phone

Maybe the designer opted out of a closing mechanism to save a few dollars per unit. They'll still charge you the same, they just get to keep more of it.

He mentions telling them where the close trunk button is on the car. It does seem weird not being able to close it remotely.

closing remotely would mean that you cannot see if there are obstructions. if you closed the trunk with something blocking the path of the lid, it could break it.

He also mentioned taking interior photos from the bmw app, no reason they can't let you close the trunk remotely if there's a camera to let you check for obstructions.

      It’s literally US regulations.
Same reason why you can’t roll up the windows while holding the lock button in BMWs in the US (unless you code it in) but it’s enabled everywhere else.

Lmao, fricking what? Wtf would there be a law regulating whether or not you can close your trunk remotely?

      >told them where the "close trunk button" is on the gate
Because in addition to being able to yeet your trunk lid from the other side of the planet they also decided that simply SHUTTING A DOOR needed to be electronic too. Absolutely deserved I hope the car was totaled by water damage and the insurance refused this moron's claim.

Might pinch a finger on the future scientist who used boltcutters to destroy your fence, trespassed on your property, kicked in the door to your house, and entered your closed garage to assess your vehicle's value before freeing you from your burden of vehicle ownership but totally absolutely dindu nuffin and to even imply otherwise is RACISS FR NO CAP BUSSIN ZOOMEBONICS BABBLE etc. Can't have that.
