Ive driven probably thousands of cars and owned dozens and I will tell you a torquey downsized turbo engine is better than an n/a full displacement motor.

Imagine making v6 power at 1500 rpm less and v6 torque 3000 rpm earlier - thats what a turbo 4 is. Same equivalency goes for a turbo v6 vs an n/a v8.

Torquey turbos are peak comfy for me.

Turbos don't deliver the smooth, predictable power that naturally aspirated engines do. Even superchargers are better than turbochargers because they have smoother power delivery and no turbo lag.

Turbos are a cope for no replacment for displacement. Turbocharged engines are being forced for moronic emissions and fuel economy regulations. N/A is always preferable.

Which is why I, someone who has driven thousands of cars, has made a conscious effort to go for turbos instead?

my engine makes peak HP a mere 50 rpm from the 6500rpm limiter and I have 8 gears, it literally never "runs out" of power.

Turbos are plenty linear and predictable now, especially with vgt and sequential turbocharging. There isn't even lag anymore on most setups. The sharp power curves are when you get into setting the boost as high as possible which is something inaccessible to natural aspiration. Turbos are linear and predictable at worst, and give toe curling yank out of your seat power at best.

            Turbos are gay

There is a reason why the best dedicated track cars like the Viper and new Z06 have naturally aspirated high cylinder/displacement engines. The power is smooth and predictable. Which is important so you don't spin out in important high speed cornering.

Well the other part is they increase complexity which means higher maintenance cost and repair cost. I'd rather have a larger displacement naturally aspirated engine which I then have the option to put a blower on versus starting out with a lower displacement engine that already has a factory blower on it.
