I always bought my cars with cash but my last car was so expensive that a wire transfer was more convenient.

I've financed both new and used and have bought most cash. Do you have a specific question?

2 & 3 combined is how I usually do it. Otherwise just 2. In my mid-30s and never had a credit card or loan. I'd like to keep it that way.

      >everyone on DA makes at least $250k/yr
      >250,000 ÷ 12 = 20,833

      You're not getting a lifted 2024 Ram with $20k.

Not him, but I almost agree with him...
Not everyone needs a $20k vehicle.
I paid $6k for mine, but I only get $5k/mo after taxes.

        used car cash
why would you buy anything made past 2010

My car is a 2002 and I love it, but the electronics are starting to get fricked. Better than all that new touch screen shit, I guess.

Ventilated seats and adaptive cruise control are great when you spend hours every day inside your vehicle.

Though I know DA will say "crack a window" and "cruise control is for homosexuals".

I dont have cruise control on mine, I would really like for my foot not to hurt after every lengthy trip

My only issue with cruise c**t-roll is that I start falling asleep with nothing to focus on. Managing my throttle and accelerating before hills to max fuel econ keeps me engaged and awake.

Cloth seats + ac = comfy year round
I literally haven't used cruise control since 2021 even though all of my cars have it and I go on 500 mile drives pretty regularly. Only used adaptive cruise control once just to figure out why people drive like they do.

I put my car on credit card just cause I don't carry around thousands of dollars and banks are closed at night/weekends. I paid it off within the billing cycle, so no interest.

only worth financing/leasing if the dealership will do the repairs FOR FREE, as part of the plan.
otherwise it's not worth it, coof inflation raised the leased value of my car 30-40% but I already locked into a 5 year plan before all the inflation happened.

Dealership does the service for free, and provides a valet replacement while my car is getting serviced.

Depends how valuable your time is and if you can find a good deal or not
    inb4 >muh wrenchlet
I don't got the space, the time, the tools, or the willpower to wrench shitboxes, my last car was a 2006 Volkswagen Passat with a inline 4 and manual, and it was a headache to bring it to get serviced, have to take a taxi to get home, etc.
Passat lasted me about 12 years, and wasn't even worth replacing the front control arms since everything was rusted together and the mechanics quoted me 3-4k just to cut out the entire front suspension

    >Bought truck at auction
    >The thing had some.minor front end damage
    >Figured the thing had to be atleast road worthy for it to hit something
    >Do some research and get a price together for what I'm willing to pay for this thing
    >Hammer drops way below what I was willing to pay
    >Excitement
    >Get israeliteed by auction fees because I'm a private buyer
    >Still come in below what I was willing to pay for the thing
    >Fix up the truck
    >Find out everything still works, AC blows cold etc
    >It even just had its oil changed
    >Put 100k miles on truck
    Pros and cons
    Pros:
Didn't have to haggle with a seller
The auction took good pictures of the damage and displayed the vin so I could look at the car fax
    Cons:
Couldn't see the truck in person before buying it
The auction fees aren't transparent so finding out how much you actually want to bid can be a challenge
The DMV makes registering a salvage title vehicle very time consuming

this is the long run rate of return on my portfolio achieved by buying index funds and hodl, completely ignoring all market trends except trying to buy low as i invest more
