        >pros
Cheap to buy, cheap to maintain, cheap to repair.
        >cons
May -look- cheap, may require more frequent repair, if you don't do your due diligence between research and inspection before purchse you may end up with an expensive repair (bad transmission, engine with bottom end damage, structural rust rot, etc) or repairs, plural.

        >10usd
Sounds like a bargain to me.

Its Only $15. If it blows up 5 minutes after the money is transferred, scrap man will pay $100 and take it away. You don't have to fix anything. He literally cant lose unless the car kills him

I had an 80s Nissan and it was a fricking nightmare. It had a coolant filter, and the engine oil ran through the alternator. I went to change the alternator and the oil line wouldn't come off, so I thought just cut the line and plug it cause no other alternator in existence has an oil line, but for some reason the oil pumped directly through it and it shot out all of the oil and the plug. Anyways, i can do top quality basic maintenance on any other shitbox, but that one had to be scrapped. I did enjoy rolling coal while it worked

The purpose of getting one is to save money so many sure it's actually going to save you money by not breaking down. Absolutely better to buy something you can afford and not owe monthly payments on than to buy something you can't afford and have to blow all your income on.

I really think this board does a disservice making people who know nothing about cars, repairing, maintenance and who don't have a good regular mechanic to go to think they should buy a shit box. Does your state have safety and emissions testing? Do you have an idea of the faults of that car and the time or time to learn how to fix it without losing your job because your car is fricked?
Most people may be better off leasing or buying something they know is reliable but cheap even if it means financing for a short time.
