Yes. EV is fine as a toy

It's the government coercion, the lack of physical reality of electric infrastructure, and the deliberate destruction of hydro carbon self sufficiency that perturbs me

Not to mention the trillions spent on R&D on this junk, which could have gone to awesome fuel cars

    I already do. Its fun.

Only sad part is these brands showing off 'sports cars' they won't sell that are more than 1000lbs heavier than my car.
Even with the switch to electric we need to return to simple lightweight vehicles.

          at any speed?

I would, I think the engineering that goes into some EVs to maximize either performance or efficiency is pretty neat. Normal mass market EVs are going to be as exciting to drive as a mid 2000s base model Camry but I don't doubt the purpose built cars are going to still be enjoyable.

I still badly wish that Hyundai gave that a mass market release with a turbo i4 or i6.

maybe mazda can make a fun electric sports car

Yes, because all cars are electric cars. For instance, mine has a battery attached to an electric motor that starts the engine.

This one should have a V6 at least, I think.
If you meant (incorrectly) one of those children's R/C toys where the electric motor powers the wheels, then no.

    >sports cars
100% would, but only if it would be a 90's-00's idea of a sports car. No nannies, only most basic automated systems, hopefully no TC and power output as close to what you're currently pressing on a throttle as it gets. I don't mind if it'd oversteer under throttle like crazy due to insane torque, it also doesn't have to be all that powerful as far as I care. Steering should feel raw, nice, and natural, i imagine regenerative braking is a must-have but I'd like to be able to disable it if possible. It can be on a heavy side, but not 2t heavy, ~1200kg like bmw i3 would be alright.

in other words, i'd gladly drive an electric miata, even if it'd be heavier than the usual

    No
    I like to drive
Unless it's got a clutch pedal and a manual gearbox, it's not a car
Only browns and disabled c**ts drive autos
Also, the only acceptable driver aids are abs, power steering and TCS (as long as it can be fully disabled with a single button press)

Most Americans are brown and disabled? Makes sense.
