    smells good

Based. It is simply the reason I use ethanol. If I could get to methanol though smells even better imo.

Nearest place that has e85 is nearly an hour away.

My suburban would burn 30% moar fuel and id have to refuel it every week. Theres no real benefit either. It would just support wasteful and polluting industry

Canada has like one station left in the whole country and it’s in a private government yard, last time I checked. Never really took off here cause we don’t jerk off cornmen the way you Americans do.

I'm kinda happy to hear that but
      >we don’t jerk off cornmen the way you Americans do
All grades now must contain 10% corn and I'm pretty upset

Nearest station is about 150 miles away from me.
    And they are rare.
Mid west bros have e85 all over the place.
Would be nice for a turbo LS build

Im not going to stand here and pretend windmills don't use and leak thousands of gallons of oil.

These ecofriendly turbines that catch fire more than the EVs they power.

            Anonymous

Lol, you just said they use large amounts of oil when they barely require any. Also it's not burned, so it can be recycled and doesn't contribute to global warming.

But that doesn't matter. It's obvious you're just parroting fox news or brietbart or some YouTube conspiracy dude.

I wonder how much ethanol can be in my gas before the ECU cannot cope fuel trim anymore.
The manual says 10% is max. or 5% methanol

      Probably more like 30%

E85 got more expensive to the point where the drop in MPG isn't worth it

  9. 9 months ago
    Anonymous

Because they care more of the fuel price, MPG. Some of them are also manipulated to believe that ethanol causes damages on cars by petroleum industry and also some silly fuel additive producers. There are benefits of ethanol fuel including E85. Its better performance(if car can recognize ethanol), higher octane rating.

On human health: better air quality, and less toxic emissions.

Even at the worst conditions for e85 its cheaper than gasoline.

thats just a penny per mile. tangibly not worth it.

I get it but its a better fuel and keeps your engine cleaner too. I'd rather use a fuel that makes a difference than hoping top tier agents keep my gdi ports clean.

    Enjoy your engine sludge

      Anonymous

Ethanol doesnt create engine sludge, its the BTEX content in the gasoline. Other factors like skipping oil change interwalls or using wrong oil. Poorly functioning spark plugs or ignition coils, bad lambda sensors, bad MAF sensor, dirty air filter. In some cases badly built engine by engine/car manufacturer.

    >ctrl-f
    >'water'
    >zero results
The entire reason why ethanol is garbage is due to the fact it attracts water.

      Anonymous

So does brake fluid you don't here anyone b***hing about that. You just need proper evap and e85 will last 2 years.

Theres no water issues long as the corn ethanol is not sitting in car fuel system longer than 28 days.

      Anonymous

This is a non issue moron. No significant amount of water is getting into your gas tank. My car sits all winter full of E85 and no water is getting into it.
