No if it's a V6, they have the same rod bearing issues as Hyundai Kias

The recall only effects the MDX, which is a completely different engine block version assembled than the TLX. The J series blocks have been made for decades with engine block serials that rival the GM catalog.
Long Story Short; change your oil and it will never happen.
Actual Hyundai problems are due to the balance shaft also being the oil pump for the engine.

Black oil just means it's doing it's job, if it's full it shouldn't spin a bearing. Comments on the original TikTok report techs that have also been pulling motors on TLXs of the same years.

Black oil means change the oil moron. This is why those problems only happen to people like you.

If Honda put a TSB out on it and inspecting rod bearings is a line item that's regularly done at dealerships, then something tells me you are wrong.

    What fuel type? Premium?

That'll cost you for years to come and it's not even worth it.

Please don't listen to this moron.
Just did some quick math, at an average of 350 gallons consumed each year (for my econobox), and regular gas priced at $4.84 (here in Cali at a random Arco), it comes out to $1,694
      With premium at $5.10 it's $1,785
A diferrence of less than 100 dollars ($91)
I did it for a more expensive place too, Mobil: $1,925 regular
$1,995 premium... Even less of a diferrence.
If you cant afford that diferrence than you shouldnt be getting an Acura.

        >an average of 350 gallons consumed each year
        So you don't drive much?
350×23(combined avg for the TLX)= only 8,050 miles.

Was basing it off of 30 mpg on my 2013 Fit, so about 10,500 miles a year

I don't know about some gay state like CA but in Texas the spread between regular and premium is always 80 to 90 cents.

3.14 vs 3.89 right now on avg.

          Not worth it.

Okay, for 350 gallons that's still only a diferrence of $262.50.
Almost 3x more, sure, but I would say still negligible and also...

    Anon, please stop being moronic.
You know you should only be buying from pre 2010.
I know your mom wants you to be safe and is nagging you to get a newer car, but what the frick does she know? She drives a 2023 Kia Sorento.
Don't waste your money, in 5 years when you see all your friends trading in for the new 2028 Hyundai Sonata, youll be comforted to feel the steady and paid off pur of your 2000's Acura.

What about 2021 accord? Same price. We know that TLX and accord are riding on the same platform, but 2021 accord gets few small upgraded components
