SIR, SIR, YOU HAVE TO REGISTER YOUR CAR AGAIN

Car registration is a bigger scam than insurance, just run by the state itself. Why has everyone allowed the racketeering to continue every year when we know the police don't catch auto theft anymore?

Cops are no better than greeters nowadays at catching crime.

Because Americans are moronic and selfish. The wealthier think that it's a flex to pay for unnecessary shit like insurance and registration, and they pay for Miguel to do all the work on their car while they make six figures jerking off to shemale porn.

I just registered my car this morning and had a similar thought, but then an un-thought.
The red tape around driving a vehicle is annoying as frick, but without it you would have morons driving cars until the wheels literally fall off on the highway, killing you and your family.
    Some regulation is good

What I'm saying is that that already occurs regardless.

That would be a justification for mandatory inspections. But not for mandatory re-registration.
Shouldn't the state automatically know the car is still registered to you when they record that you're getting it inspected every year?

What the FRICK does registration have to do with wheels falling off of vehicles? Do they make sure the wheels are on tight when you register your vehicle?

Some states tie registration to safety inspections.
        Mine doesn’t, but some do.

It still happens though, so it is another law that is only a problem for people who follow it.

having problems paying for registration bud?

In my state my registration for my 30 year old care WAS $27, THEN it was $142. Did my car suddenly become 5x more valuable between years 30 and 31 (just before it fell apart)?
I know people that have new cars and tucks who must pay $1500 or more to "register" their vehicles every year. If I had enough money for a new car I would leave this homosexual state before buying it.

used car prices did jump after covid anon... they use bluebook and if prices went up on used cars all over then the registration will raise with the price.

It wasn't that. My state needed money badly so they asset raped nearly all car owners with a slew of new "registration" fees. $142 was like the MINIMUM registration amount for ANY car. At the same time they raised the gas tax on the already most expensive gas in the continental US.

My registration expired in 2021 and I didn't bother to renew it and have been driving around with an expired plate for 3+ years and haven't been pulled over or received any tickets the whole time.
Just stop following gay laws. The police are too busy dealing with Black folk and being defunded to worry about shit like that as long as you are White and aren't acting like a total moron.

Yup, tis that. Here in PA mine went up $20 dollars since last year for no reason whatsoever. Now it costs $110/yr for a useless piece of paper I gotta print out myself. Then of course the annual inspection/emission fees so they can find something wrong with my truck that always ends up costing hundreds of dollars to fix. It's such a rigged job I don't know why more ppl aren't talking about it.

Hey burger bud here in the cold north we have to pay HST 13% on a used vehicle purchase. Every single time that vehicle gets sold to a new owner they have to pay 13% of its cost to the govt. and it just keeps happening forever until the c**t rolls into the scrapper.

      That's wild.
I just did some quick maths on my truck I've had for 10 years and realized I've paid at least $1800 (conservatively) in annual "registration" & "inspection" fees alone. That's $1800 for a piece of paper and some window stickers for just in case I ever get pulled over by the police and have to prove it's my vehicle!!!
