Nissan is when your credit score can't get you a Honda or Toyota

Don't forget about Mitsubishi. That's for after that Nissan got repo'd and you're ready to try for a brand new car payment again.

Yeah, you need to get the manual if you get a Versa. Their trucks don't have CVTs.

Their trucks are crap. My boss had a 2016 Titan XD, his turbos shit themselves after like 120,000 miles, the truck spent a month at the dealership waiting to get fixed and then a week after he got it back the crankshaft snapped. Dealer's response was "Well that sucks, want to buy a new one?" Bone stock with regular maintenance at the dealership its entire life.

It blows my mind that anyone would buy a Titan XD when it is very well known that they just shit themselves and are unfixable

Nissan only cares about numbers, not muh brand like Toyota or Honda does. They sell garbage to Black folk and make mad cash. Sure they made like, what, 2 reliable engines in the last 40 years? RB26? The only really based thing they did was keep manual transmission cars in circulation for 10 years longer than they otherwise would've; they axed their traditional automatics long before their CVTs were reliable but still offered a 6MT.

      This

Subaru is on pretty much exactly on par with Nissan for overall quality and engineering. It's an amazing achievement how they have built themselves a customer base that are completely oblivious to rattles, grinding wheel bearings, oil consumption, falling apart interiors, rust, and constantly needing brake and suspension parts. They see that Wilderness badge and each that shit right up.

I had an outback in the shop today with like 80k miles where the steering motor gear had so much backlash in it that it sounded like a wheel was falling off over bumps. I had one yesterday with two grinding wheel bearings and a loose ball joint at 35k miles. Last week I had a customer that has a 2014 and a 2015 forester, both have failed a/c clutch field coils at the same time. You need to cut back on the vape juice

I'd never buy a Subaru but I've gotta say, if I had enough brain damage to want a turbo 4, AWD, and a CVT, I'd buy a Subaru. They're relatively reliable given their complexity.

My experience with Nissan is they are 90% great and 10% shit - like they'll make a whole car that's really cool and has all this great tech in it but then they'll do something batshit moronic for just one crucial component and it will frick the whole car up.
Or the engine - they'll make an entire engine awesome and bullet proof but then frick up one little bit which wrecks the whole engine.

I don't know what it is about them, maybe it's their drive to always build the latest and greatest compared to Toyota's slow and steady "it doesn't have to be the most amazing car, just make sure it works" approach.

When you are a mechanic you get half the money for most of the work. When you hire a mechanic you pay all the money for half the (poorly done) work (with shit parts). Both are cucked. Get a real job but learn to do 80% of your auto work, send the ugly 20% to some wageslave. This tiny, shitty toolbox I got for free covers what I need for my car.

Shitposting aside, any mechanics ITT - consider moving to manufacturing. Youll have lower hours but higher pay and better benefits.

They are just very cheaply built and have a lot of more minor problems. Constant bulbs burning out, brake lines rust out faster than other cars, brakes are under sized and wear out fast, wheel bearing brinelling. They've used the exact same cheaply made ball joint since the late 1980s which have to be replaced pretty often. CVT valve bodies eat TCC solenoids. Every exhaust heat shield is constantly rattling. Mild steel exhaust flanges start to rust out after 5 years or so of salt. Subaru still uses bright zinc coated bolts which rust super fast compared to the geomet coated bolts that other car companies use. Subaru makes the kind of cars where the upper door frame can get bent if it gets caught by the wind too hard.
