So it ends with a whimper

'18 R/T Plus. I haven't driven it in two weeks. Obviously haven't washed it either. Not gonna wash it this week and probably won't drive it this week either. Seems this is exactly how you get those cars in the driveway rotting and "ran when parked" ads

What’s wrong with it other than being a little dirty?

Nothing. I just have no desire to put gas and wash it to use it for two hours while meeting with Dad over dinner. The thing in the background will do just fine for that.

So SELL the fricking thing. I'm downsizing my truck fleet as I've more than I'll use this lifetime and seeing them go to enthusiasts is righteous. The lad who is buying one of my dentside F250s is getting an extra shitload of good parts including good stock engine cores and sheet metal to start him off right.

That Mountaineer is more than likely a V8 too schizo.

Nothing. I just have no desire to put gas and wash it to use it for two hours while meeting with Dad over dinner. The thing in the background will do just fine for that.

Did you make the mistake of getting the auto instead the 6spd?

        >That Mountaineer is more than likely a V8 too schizo.
It is. Wouldn't have a 4.0 SOHC if it was given to me.

        >Did you make the mistake of getting the auto instead the 6spd?
Yeah, but the cars' job then was to be a highway shuttle so automatic wasn't a problem.

          >It is. Wouldn't have a 4.0 SOHC if it was given to me.
The '05+ aren't too bad. But yeah I'd steer clear of the early 4.0L SOHC too.
          >Yeah, but the cars' job then was to be a highway shuttle so automatic wasn't a problem.
I don't see how slogging along in 6th is much different if you were doing mostly highway driving. But now you're missing the fun factor that would make you want to drive it just because. Why isn't it your highway cruiser anymore, change jobs?

    Me with my 1990 300CE.

    I'm so sad.

It needs wheel bearings so I can justify doing tires... I said I'd do it in March....It's only been started 3 times since it was put away for the winter and now the wagon needs attention so it will have the garage spot.

We used to be out cruising every weekend with all the windows down. Cars n coffee on Sat morning then outing with Dad in the afternoon or Sunday. Been like 3 years since I've driven it proper. Had it out last year but only short drives.

This is called depression, seek help.
When you prefer to drive a Mountaineer over a Chally is definitely a clinically-defined depression.
