Honda would still be a little workshop making substandard piston rings if it weren't for Toyota.

Both brands will run forever with spotty, inconsistent maintenance or outright neglect. The Honda will leak power steering fluid while doing so.

Is there any car brand that has never participated in a stupid war and that does not manufacture any kind of military vehicle?

Probably a smaller brand. Even asiatics have Kia Special Vehicles Division where they make jeeps and KLTVs for the ROK military.

Neither. How about an '85 Softail with chrome shotguns? How about a '69 Camaro or a '70 Trans Am?

I've always gotten the impression that Honda's have nicer interiors, and feel less like an appliance to drive.
And supposedly Honda manuals are great, but I've not used one

The quality of their cars is virtually the same.
The only difference is that Toyota has skyrocketed in popularity and influence in the US and this has allowed their vehicles sell for over MSRP.
The highest trim Accord feels like a Rolls Royce compared to the highest trim Camry, but sells for the same price.
