gay moron homosexual FL5 6spd FK8 6spd homosexual Black person shit typing all confidently like a complete piece of shit, changing MTF is required to not get grinds. have a nice day c**t hole 🙂 MTF is a wear item

Autos don't fail after regular maintenance. They fail after regular maintenance is ignored for 3-4x the recommended mileage, the whole trans is fricked and the owner thinks "changing the fluid is the cheapest thing I can do, maybe I should do that!", and then all the clutch material in the neglected old fluid that was the only thing holding it together gets drained out and it slips and fails.

            >New fluid killed my transmission! Fluid change BAD! Don't ever change your transmission fluid!

            frick automatics

It does frustrate me how awful 2nd gear feels on my fk8. It's under warranty for another 3 years. Once it pops out of gear or hard grinds, those mfs are swapping it. Fresh Honda mtf did nothing. And I refuse to use acdelco FM until it's out of warranty :') let it grind frick Honda for this one.

Forgot to add it's starting to slip and shifting like ass. They think a fluid change is going to fix 150k miles of neglect.

        Manuals don't need oil changes.
Automatics need transmission changes every 100k.

Wrong. If so, why is it listed in the manual?

Because anon obviously knows more about your vehicle than the vehicle's manufacturer.

The 6 speed manual in my 525i can use either atf or mtf depending on the climate. I use royal purple synchromax because atf is too thin for the hot climate and makes the shifts notchy.

ATF is just gear oil with more additives so that it works as hydraulic fluid as well

In a manual, it just needs to be the right viscosity and film strength with the correct chemistry for your seals

People think pointless trolling is the entirety of DA culture, because kids are too dumb to understand irony and satire and take them as reality while they're growing up. much like how humor from the past seems to become real things 20-30 years later.

That's my more positive assumption. The negative assumption is the internet/western world is becoming more and more dumb as it diversifies, and these people really think they are correct all the time.

I've been thinking of using that and doing a drain and fill on my 93' Toyota. However I've heard that Castrol isn't as good as they used to be. Somehow I don't think this is true. Also it's an absolute b***h to get a hold of in the states because so many of these morons use automatics. I've been using Castrol on everything else lately from engine oil to Pyroplex Blue on the drivelines.

      >surely you just buy vavoline or whoever made the fluid for the om and it just works?
      It ain't exactly the same.
All JWS 3309 ATF is supposedly made by Mobil, however the specs for Volvo 3309, Mobil 3309, and Aisin T-IV all differ slightly.

The Volvo 3309 is significantly more viscous than the Mobil 3309.

Given how unreliable the Aisin boxes are, if you want your transmission to last longer, you do care

do you have any empirical proof whatsoever that the oem fluid's properties are better for the long term health of the transmission

i have a 845re Chrysler zf8 clone and I run superior made in deutschland lifeguard 8 in it. I've read people putting maxlife in with no issues
as long as the viscosity and temperature ratings are similar I dont think it really matters. i'm still going to keep putting zf8 fluid in it tho, the fluid prices arent that high anymore especially if you buy it off ebay. that said i'll toss any multi vehicle fluid in over the "muh filled for lifetime fluid" bullshit if I have too
