Why can't dodge just stick a 5.7 hemi into a redesigned challenger that's like 75% the size and weight of the old one? That way it could still be a v8 and since its not so obese it could still have a good amount of power.
And the 5.7 would do a better job to meet emissions standards of course.

Again, a car platform is not the meaning as a car chassis. Furthermore, the STLA platform is an elongated Giorgio platform. So far, no Alfa rides on the STLA and the new Charger is the only non-SUV/CUV that uses it.

Then they realized a year later "oh shit what are we going to call the Mustang?" and quickly reverted, resulting in stupid shit like the last year Five Hundreds being called Taurus and what is basically the 1st gen Flex released as the Taurus X in a half-assed yet successful attempt to pull back buyers with the traditional car names.

Shouldn’t this I6 be something for American Anons to celebrate? Europeans and Australians have been mogging us in the I6 category for decades, even though we have the Vortec 4200, which strangely does not get that much attention despite its durability, the feats that can be pulled off with it, and the fact that it’s nicknamed “The American Barra”.

Yes it’s not a V8 but let’s give this a chance and see what this I6 is capable of before we shit on it. It’s unusual for me to be this optimistic about new American-made engines with how things are getting smaller or being phased out by electric but this is an American performance Inline 6 in the fricking 2020’s, let’s see what Dodge has cooked here.

It's going to have a ZF8 with a similar AWD system to the Q4 used in the Giulia and Stelvio. Which is a good drivetrain but not anything that will stand out against similar cars from BMW and Audi. If it did have a manual though it would be an incredibly unique car. 500hp AWD m/t coupes basically don't exist outside of niche Porsche and Audi cars
