V6 Engines

Anon, you don't have an economy car engine in your car right? An engine configuration solely designed to be packaged into many different types of cars to save on cost compared to its inline counterpart?

You can use whatever marketing buzz words you want but at the end of the day, horsepower is horsepower. Doesn't matter how its produced. 12 seconds is 12 seconds no matter how many cylinders it took to get the car there.

What about engine balance and complexity?

Don't care. Doesn't matter. Engines make the wheels spin. The wheels don't care what's on the other end.

The Camaro turbo 4, Ford ecoboost, Mitsu 4g63t, Ford 2.3l turbo, SR20DET, 4AG-ZE, Fiat S.76, etc would like to have a word.

You are right. I do have 3liter V6 naturally aspirated engine my car. I dont care much about fuel economy, emissions instead I care more about performance and driving fun. I made conscious choice to spend more money on fuel costs by driving cars with larger displacement(also often more cylinders in many) naturally aspirated engine, I avoid forced induction engines fully purposely, dont want to spend any money on turbo/supercharger repairs even if they would be twice more powerful or consume significantly less fuel than cars I buy.

Naturally V6 engines are some of the most fun sounding engines.

Good news, the truck is an economy car (well it's supposed to be). It's not meant to be sporty.

V6s literally are economy engines, the engine of choice for shitboxes everywhere

Except the 3.6 Avenger was at the time, the fastest, most powerful car in its class. Doesn't sound very economical.

Those V6 Avengers also sold for $18k otd with typical Fiat discounts. Just because it was fast doesn’t make it any less of a shitbox.
