Went to a dealer to buy new Challenger. Valve Cover Leaking oil.

They said they fixed it and took it for a test drive and let it sit for 20 minutes. Oil still dripping down.

Should I assume this thing is a lemon? They claimed the valve cover gasket was installed incorectly. Theu replaced.

Now they claim the oil was leftover from the repair.

It's a brand new Chally. You shouldn't have to do that at all if you JUST BOUGHT IT. Brand new cars in a generation can have spoofs, but Challys are of a fairly old generation they should not be this way.

It's a Lemon. They need to call a lawyer.

Yeah, we were shocked tbh. Drove a long way the salesman tells us its in the shop with an oil leak. Later on mechanic explained it was valve cover gasket improperly installed from the factory.

The mechanic at the dealer fixed the valve gasket. Then sprayed the engine down with degreaser and hosed it off.

Then we test drove it. Thats when we noticed the oil dripping under the car.

The dealer is claimjng that the oil was leftover from the initial repair. They also left degreaser all over the engine unrinsed. Green shit. It dried and left a residue on the air cleaner cover.

Did you already buy it? Why do you have to buy that specific one, just pick a different one.

Somebody posted those Florida dealerships where they have literally 100+ Challengers/Chargers each with the V8s, w/massive discounts.

Wouldn't want to deal with this shit on a brand new car you're paying ~40 grand for.

No, took back to the dealer and told em it was still leaking oil. They claimed it was leftover oil from the valve gasket repair.

Its a specific color and AWD version we wanted. Hard to find.

It might be the threads on this board, but I've been getting beaten down with the urge to take a look at challengers lately. Something about a manual v8 sedan resonates with me.

go for it. forget about the stigma it has with certain “people”. once you’re sitting in one you will quickly realize why chargers, challengers and 300’s are so common all over the country regardless of the trim level and what year it is.

Yeah, why would you take a chance on it? Did they offer you $5000 off the price?
