    Full 90s/2000s weeb.
    R34 GT-R
    MKIV Supra
    FD RX-7

To be quickly follow by an NSX, S2000, Z32, S15, 3000GT, Evo VIII or IX, SW20 MR2, SC400, NA Miata, and some as-of-yet undetermined Impreza/WRX/STI body style.

      Anonymous

I've owned three Z32s, two SW20s, and currently daily an SC400. Friends with three S2000s, three Miatas, another (manual) SC400, and one FD. Only telling you this, not to brag, but as I was reading your list, I started to realize how far I'd come in the last 9 or so years, since back then these were my dreams and goals too. Only to realize how much of that list I'd ticked off. Included the friends because they let me sit in or drive them, adding to the experience repertoire.

Distant acquaintances with an A80, and Evo IV. Notable omissions include: there is a local R34 owner but don't know anything about him. Don't personally know any NSX owners, nor S15 or 3K owners. Though a friend of an S12 and S13.

Point being, it's all mostly attainable, at least as far as getting exposure or owning a decent chunk of them. Just got to keep trying and never get too demoralized. Because that will happen even while owning them.

        Anonymous

The prices are currently going up faster than I can save for them though. Not being in the US, I think I really missed the boat on the R34. It was legal for import here when it turned 15 years old, but now that it's turned 25 and is legal for import to the US, prices have just shot way the frick up.

          Anonymous

Yeah, out of everything on that list, R34 was, is, and probably always will be the least touchable of all of those. You basically have to make that a lifetime goal to even get near owning one, for 99% of the population. Prices have been rising, some more than others, but as of a few months ago, prices have been coming down and normalizing and stabilizing a bit too. Of course, worse comes to worst, importing directly from Japan tends to be the cheapest option, but there's going to be no price difference as far as the R34 and NSX are concerned. The others, there's generally more wiggle room, especially depending on trim.

68 gt500 is lame compared to 67. 69 and 70 are worse than 68 though.

There was 1 convertable 1967 shelby gt500 made, its at the gilmore museum in michigan. I agree with your other cars though.

      My cars would be
1993 ford escort wagon with a manual gearbox.
Mid eighties buick flower carrying car.
      Probably a manual e39 touring.

There are a lot of obscure vehicles i would like to have in my collection.

        Anonymous

        The 1968 GT500KR had a 428 Cobra Jet.
The BOSS 429 was a better engine but I'm a fan of the FE family.
I knew a guy who had a Blue BOSS 429. He restored it and it went on the block at Barret-Jackson, sold for something like $220k. He came by the shop with it on a trailer and let me run my hands all over it.
        Gorgeous car.
I also knew another mustang hoarder who had a Yellow BOSS 429 basket case. It was all there but being restored. He passed away and his kids sold off his collection before I even knew he was dead.
        I really wanted that car.

The KRs just don't seem very special when you could get the same year GT with the 428 cobra jet anyways.
GT500s in general seem like a marketing/styling exercise except for the Super Snake.

        An interesting fact.
P1075 was once owned by Sam Walton (yes, like Sam's club / Walmart).
He had it parked in his garage next to another GT40 for quite some time.
P1075 is currently at the Ford Museum in Detroit but no official statement on ownership (Ford may have bought it back or it could be on loan).

they made some, just most were also automatics. Frankly after having mine totaled in December I wouldn't recommend anyone buying a solstice anymore, gm has discontinued a lot of the parts you need for maintenance, let alone other more niche shit like control arms and brackets.
