Americans don't want affordable cars. They want big trucks.

      >is your lard ass wants a 60k+ pickup truck for no reason other than muh seating position
      >Powerful and reliable naturally aspirated V8
      >RWD
      >Huge engine bay for easy wrenching
      >Bed to throw shit in
      >Comfortably seats 5 or 6 with tons of space
      >Super comfortable ride quality
      >Can tow anything
      >Luxurious interior
      >Handsomw, classic looks
      >Hold their value excellently
      >Body-on-frame design makes them rugged and durable
Pickups are based. The only people that would hate on pickups are poorgays that can't afford them and walkable city /n/gays

As long as there's morons taking out loans to buy cars new cars will sell. Thing is people smart enough to save the money needed to buy new cars with cash are also typically smart enough to not spend egregious amounts of money on a depreciating asset.

They wouldn't even see it as an asset. Just a method of transportation/Passion inspired ride.

If you can get a loan for a car, you can get loan for an actual investment. Buying a car with it is just insane

Credit can sometimes be a no-brainer, you see stuff like 0.5% interest locked for 3 years sometimes

you'd be an idiot if you paid cash over 0.5% interest, pay it off once the interest discount is gone

it will be like it is in south america and the shit parts of asia, everyone will drive a POS moped while new cars are for the rich and a status symbol even if it is an econobox

and this is also why cheap cars aren't popular in the US,people who are looking for cheaper cars (10-20k$) in america would rather buy used while 3rd worlders buy any POS just because it's "new"

Automakers will continue to reduce or shut down factories, cut engineers, and keep raising prices until the $250,000 truck or cuv is the norm for the select few with the means to buy.

    Fun Fact:

40% of the new trucks you see on the road are leased with high interest rates. I always laugh at the gays with fresh dealership Rubicons and too scared to get them dirty lol

if you bought a Rubicon instead of an actual truck you are a child.

    Prices come back down

We are quickly approaching that point.

84% of Americans purchase new cars with a loan. The cost of credit is up sharply over the last 4 years. Combine that with new car prices that are up an average of 50% over the last four years and you have fewer and fewer being able to afford the payment on a new car or truck.
