No it won't. The sale of purely ICE may be eventually banned, but the use of ICE will not be banned for a long time.

They’re a GREAT motor company, but definitely not the best. They make the best 4 bangers and motorcycle/lawnmower engines and top tier (not best) V6s. They don’t have any reputation or even widespread production for I6s, V8s, diesel engines, 10/12 cyls, ect. For vehicles sold to the public. There is no best motor company. Certain companies may make the best configuration of a particular engine though. As a car manufacturer Honda has always had an Achilles heel in automatic transmissions that makes them far less reliable in general compared to other jap automakers. Yeah the manuals they have are great, but 90% of the cars they sell are automatic, and very frequently in history they have has issues so widespread they’ve lost multiple class action lawsuits. As we speak there are even certain models that Honda is require by law to replace the transmission free or charge upon failure due to court mandates and faulty technology.

they lost in the automatic transmission game in the 2000's because they were very reluctant to ever build a planetary automatic. all of their automatics were automated manuals with a torque converter in between. the early ones throughout the 80's and 90's were simple, firm, quick, and fantastic. especially when compared to the crappy 3-speeds other manufacturers were offering. Honda had TC lockup in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th as early as 1986.
When they complicated things with computers, solenoids (clutch pressure control, pressure switches) to make shifts feel smoother, their weaknesses began to show. they also cheaped out on the bearings for V6 applications starting in the 6th gen Accord and had lubrication problems in the 5-speed automatics in the mid 2000's.
Honda wouldn't use a planetary automatic until 2018 with their 10-speed automatic.

How? They don’t even make V8s, V10s, I6s, or reputable diesels.
All they know how to make is a couple great I4s and V6s but most are landmower-tier I4s.

In Honda's defense, the K20 is a port injected engine compared to the Corolla's dual injection. It's missing 11hp but it's a much simpler engine. It is also available with a manual transmission.

          Also
          >belt cvt
is not a plus. A 1.5T direct injection making 174hp with a belt CVT is inferior to NA 169 hp multiport injection with direct 1st gear + CVT.

OP the truth is that toyota is not always available. Sometimes there are wait times of months, even year in case of the Rav4
for that reason lets say u get stuck with no car, you must buy one at once, then you go for a honda or mazda for example

They had a great run from the mid 80s to mid 00s. Honda made the best fwd cars back then, simple as. Double wishbone, DOHC vtec, manual transmission. The civic and accord were more fun to drive than the corolla and camry, while being just as reliable.

SH-AWD alone is already better than anything Toyota has, let alone the NSX and its future successor.

    Toyota has the Poopra (BMW)
    Lexus (slushbox barges that understeer)
    The GR8-*explodes*
    and the GR Yar-*diff overheats*

Admittedly, though.Toyota can actually make a truck, and that's something honda cannot do.

SH-AWD feels terrible when driven hard and just makes the car unpredictable, and completely uncontrollable in certain situations. Not to mention the system weighs like 400lbs or something ridiculous. Really cool on paper, doesnt work too well in practice.

Competition is good, without them Toyota would be even shittier than they've already become. As far as I'm concerned their reliability is only lore now, nothing post 2005 has rhe same level of longevity. We're talking about 20 year old vehicles at this point, very few are even still available for purchase.
