Why do people say these are modern luxury again? Just took a Lyft in one.

Why do people say these are “modern luxury” again?
Just took a Lyft in one. Cheap plastics and you can definitely feel those leaf springs. Its stereo was pretty mediocre, too.

I was in a silverado 1500 and holy frick there's so much shitty plastic inside. I can't believe they're really charging over $50,000 just to drive in the same shit from 2002

The interiors on GM/Chevy trucks are hilariously cheap yet car reviewers rarely mention it. But those same reviewers will slam the marginally better Ford interiors.

Have you been in a modern luxury car? It's the same plastic bullshit just with a frickload of RGB LED's and way worse ride quality.

I still can't decide if having the rear-view camera monitor in the rear-view mirror is better or worse than having it in the infotainment screen.

I like it in the screen because then I get two different perspectives when backing up and might see something in one that the other doesn't catch.

It's okay if it doesn't replace the mirror itself

Why would I have that teeny tiny screen on the mirror instead of having the camera feed on the infotainment screen which is usually much bigger and you have a better picture?

            Anonymous

Because I don't want any infotainment besides an aux cable and and amplifier.

You might want that, but for me that know shit about roads it's a complete necessity to have android auto on my car to connect my phone.

Do you have a HUD in your car that's integrated with turn by turn navigation? If no, just buy a good mount for your phone.

^This. Same information and portable so my phone covers all my vehicles. On bikes I wear a Juggernaut forearm mount.

It’s very nice having that screen for backing up to trailers tho.

A big list of gimmicky features does not mean high quality, but I guess it's enough to trick a majority of people into ignoring the terrible materials, construction, noise, and ride quality.

Ford isn't good at audio in general. It's not important to them. That's generally a pattern in American cars.

Surprisingly Mazda is pretty good with audio even at low price points.
