Why is lexus like this?

>71100€
>sport trim
>max speed: 180km/h (111 mph)
>0-100: 8.9s
>2.5 I4 with a shitty output of 120hp + electric motor (80hp)
i get it's a luxury car, but making a "sport" trim and not make it sporty at all should be illegal.

So it's basically a 35k € Corolla sedan with better upholstery? Guess the 180 km/h max speed comes from having the same hybrid system and the same limiter on it, too.
Hope they at least improved the sound insulation, because the Corolla has fricking none and you'll go deaf driving it with alloys that big.

No, it's a tarted up camry. Same as it's always been.

are the pillars, front quarter panel, and rocker panels all one piece?
    that looks ridiculous

yeah well, putting an M badget on a non-m car should be illegal too. Unfortunately, "sports" is more about visual aesthetics than anything nowadays.

F Sport is an appearance package. Same as S-line, AMG-line or M Sport.
    F is the performance line.

"Sport" my ass, I can go faster for 2% of the price

I wanna get mad but you're absolutely right, no car for that price tag in 2024 should have a nearly 9-second 0-60

its a NA i4 2.5 with peak torque at 7k rpm

120 hp is what you get out of the electric motor. The gasoline engine can do 178 hp or so, not sure how it's tuned in different countries. The stated combined output is 218 hp.
Also not sure what's the point of a "sport" trim when all of them seem to have the exact same 2.5 + hybrid drive powertrain. 218 hp doesn't sound very sporty for a nearly 4000 lb vehicle, although the electric motor's high torque may help quite a bit at lower speeds.

Sports trims usually refer to suspensions. As in sporty handling. Quick acceleration doesn't make something sporty. Cars can be slow and sporty. Take that one weeblet car that blows up when you turn, for example.

At the price level of that car, I'd kind of expect adjustable suspension and steering at all trim levels.

probably, maybe it's because its the eu version.
Only specs i found on the lexus page were:
      >Max power of the hybrid sistem: 120hp
      >Max power of the lexus hybrid drive: 88hp
both are separated values in the specs

Look at the name of the car.
    >F Sport H
That means it's only for good handling, but with a put put engine. I mean, it IS funny it's not even as good as 2015 Accord, but grannies love that car.

ES300h is meant to be a soft luxobarge with tiny running costs. A F-sport of it makes no sense. A grandpa car.

Also it was like 50k two years ago.

Why the frick would you ever want a "sports sedan"? That's an oxymoron. That cringe shit is why the sedan doesn't exist anymore.

This thread is hilarious to me. The ES has been a fricking grandpa/grandma sedan since it's inception like 30 fricking years ago. Are you guys all underageb&??? It's like the one Lexus they never bothered making a high performance variant of. Yes it's fricking FWD. Yes its has only 200hp. Yes its limited to 111MPH because nobody in their right mind ever going to take this thing on a track

Of course, Lexus is for the geriatrics.
