I own a Toyota to save money, but I like my American cars far better. More comf and quicker.

Modern Toyotas aren't comparable to the golden era '90s cars.

$500 bucks more to have a Ford than a Toyota over 10 years? Sometimes it costs more because it's WORTH IT.

People who spend a ton of money on their car aren't going to willingly admit they fricked up. Especially not within the first few years of it.

I was extremely close to buying either a GR86 or GR Corolla, but got a Civic Type R instead. Honda and Toyota reliability is a wash, but the Honda has much better interior design and build materials. I like the styling more too (I got an FK8, not the ugly new ones).

Reliability doesn't mean shit when your cars are boring. It's better to live one day with a fun car than 100 years with a Camry

The ironic thing is 90% of Toyotas are leased so reliability is irrelevant. You're just overpaying for boring garbage.

I knew it. Toyota and Lexus continuously pay to get the top places every year.

The better way to check dependability is to see which cars stay on the road.
The high ranking ones that don't have numerous examples of older cars on the road don't belong on a dependability list, they paid for that rank.

Real answer - Toyota is very expensive. Toyotas are generally 5-6k more expensive than competition because of the build quality and standard features.
Toyotas are also small for their class. Not very comfy, interiors aren't that great.
So people pick and choose what's important.
But Toyota drivetrains are unrivaled for reliability after 15 years.

New toyotas break down just as much as any other car. The 2000-2010 work very well. They don't even spy on your conversations in real time, imagine that

Maybe because they made their car keys retroactively require a paid subscription to function? That's BMW tiers stupid.

Toyotas are boring. They don't make a single interesting car. The supra is a bmw. The GR86 is a subaru. The GR corolla is a $40,000 (plus markup) hot hatch (overpriced, therefore not interesting)
