Its the South Downs, a famous mountain range in Sussex, England.
People often get altitude sickness going up there unprepared.

Wow. Meanwhile the lowest altitude in the state of Colorado is 3400ft.

Yeah, I didn't feel any semblance of altitude sickness until the top of Pikes Peak.

Chat is this true? I just looked up the tallest mountain in the UK and it's only 4,413ft. Who is getting altitude sickness at 4,400ft? The morbidly obese? People with emphysema? 80 year old former coal miners?

            Actually its true.
I grew up in Wales, England, and can confirm that the South Downs range is notorious for this.
Paramedics often airlift people from there who have been isolated on a grassy peak.

Those places do get overcrowded at times though. Parking controls limit crowding.

Is altitude sickness from south Downs contagious? Ive been told I have Downs syndrome but I've never been there.

The pic he posted is within 1/5 of New York and is larger than entire smaller states within the U.S. It's not like the Grand Canyon where people don't typically live within it, entire counties fall within the Adirondack Park

Based Lower Ausable Lake enjoyer. It's actually annoying as shit to actually hike that one because it's reservation only (but free). A bunch of rich people basically restrict access to it and you get to watch their private bus pass you multiple times as you walk for hours to get to this view. I haven't been to Lower Ausable in several years, but hope to go there or to Gothics over the summer.

It's interesting that you left out the ADK Loj though, which IS required paid parking unless someone drops you off, and you have to get there at the buttcrack of dawn to lock down a parking spot. This pic is from the top of Algonquin, and when I got to the bottom I found out my alternator was failing kek

This is bugging me. Where the frick is OP pic from?

I tried Gizoogling everything, AI-assisted search for the parking logo with the half-gear, nothing matches.

It's says "TICKET" in Anglo so it must be an Anglo-friendly Euroc**t. But which one?
