I didn't know non-M coupes existed, let alone they had a strange looking bootlid with the plate in the bumper instead.

You guys have no respect for one of the greatest drag chassis to exist. The 1.8 corolla, the starlet, and the first gen rx7 were some of the founding fathers of import drag cars. They're like the foxbodies and chevy vegas of japan. The last compact lightweight solid axle cars with tunable engines and the room to upgrade

there is exactly 2% of an actual corolla left inside the car in your image

Actually most of it is corolla still. Usually they just strip them out, throw in a roll cage and tub the rear. At the faster stuff that hits 7's, they're usually going tube chassis, but you see varying levels at every build, and its no different from domestics.

the exhaust comes out of the front fender and the interior has been replaced with a jungle gym

You have to go crazy with tube chassis shit when you go sevens anyway, they won't let you go that fast without putting a comprehensive safety cage in it.

As an ex owner of a deeäks korolla, I didn't really like it.
Then again I never liked toyotas to begin with.

I'm sure you'd have enjoyed it a lot more if you'd slapped a 7A-FE into it and refrained from fricking the engine up for 5 minutes

Didn't bother as the K gave me enough of a headache, nor di I like the thing enough in general to spend a considerable chunk for a swap.
Not like the 7afe is free either.

Yeah I know all about your k motor that just magically bent pushrods all on its own
Toyotas sure are unreliable when you dont know how to time a camshaft

Yeah, not my problem anymore, sent it to the heaps and didn't worry about it. Never had similar issues with any other car

Yeah must be the cars fault amirite? No way to verify cam timing, that stuff is rocket science.

Probably was the cars fault, or rather shitty pushrods.
The valves never hit pistons, they just started bending little by little.
But again, not my problem anymore

    Shame about the shitty engine
And all of them are overpriced rust buckets these days
Used to be good when they were $500 and a 4age wasn't being sold for $4,000
