As you can see above, I prefer late second gen, something about those scoops on the bumper really completes the package for me, and that faux-gold trim is sexy af. But yes, it's laughable that more powerful yurotrash gets outed by american and japanese machines.

    UK gay here
Always loved this, after watching Smokey and The Bandit as a kid
Some years later, went on holiday to FL and saw my first IROC Z
If any US gays could help me out?
    Who produced the IROC Z?
    What was it based upon?

The IROC was simply a sporty trim of the third gen Chevrolet Camaro, which in itself was always practically the same as the Pontiac Firebird, only with different front end styling and tail lights.

        Thank you,Anon,appreciated.
Back in late ‘90’s when in FL saw my first IROC Z
Thought it was awesome, what a machine;-)
        Thanks Anon;-)

Second gen is fine although I'm not partial to the final facelift, but for me it's the third gen. Has popups, has T-tops, has manual, handles far better, currently still much cheaper.

Let's be honest, its just another gm barbie car.

I with NOT stand here and let you lump second-gen in with GMgays. 3rd gen i'm ok with tho, go ahead, I never really liked KITT that much anyways.

I mean cmon, lets be honest with ourselves here, its text book gm marketing to females looking for a road car with sporty styling.
Perfect example of a hairdressers car.

nah, first and second gen firebird are tried and true muscle cars for red-blooded american men, and I won't have you besmirching pontaic's name like that, anon.

Cmon lad, be honest with yourself. You aren't just going to parrot gm's stupid marketing nonsense are you?
            Never go full consoomer anon.

Pontiac is not GM, eurotard. STFU if you don't know what you're talking about.

            You seem upset.
            Guess thectruth hurts.
You do know, that gm bought out saewoo to try and improve the crap they made here right? That includes these barbie cars.
Relax, it is just how it is.

            Anonymous

Quite a few anon, all thanks to our tax monies. Just so they can pay marketing bods to convince us that some generic, poorly built road car is a "sports car."
It's best not to think about.
These are the same people who tried conspiring against Henry Ford to stop any competition.
And guess who they want to stop now?

Firebird's a god machine. Drink a Coors, crank up the hillbilly banjo jamboree, and drive a minimum of double the speed limit. We are east bound and down b***h.

Awesome cars, especially with a 400 or 455. 2nd gen F bodies are almost as easy as a 1st gen mustang to work on; parts are literally EVERYWHERE. Noses are longer than you think, it's a very low sitting car as well so it handle surprisingly well for a 40-50 year old solid axle and leaf spring muscle car.

Stock they don't make a lot of power, but easy to mod. Only complaints I had about mine were the sagging doors (common cause they're long and heavy as frick), frameless windows with no roof lip (leak), and lack of airflow inside due to design. Other than that, awesome classic cars.

I've owned 2 and I never had an issue finding any parts for them. It's a flagship GM vehicle that's very popular.
