When is the second generation S coming out? Or any of their models? They all look ugly and uninspired.

Plaid is like 4th or 5th gen version of the Model S.
Model 3 has had a couple small refreshes, seems like a bigger one is incoming.
My guess is they'll keep the current 3s as is, and launch a higher-priced one.

For good examples of a modern sedan see:
BMW E9x or F30 3-series
BMW F10 5-series
Mercedes W204
Facelift W212 and W213
Audi C6 A6
Even the Cadillac CT5, CTS, and STS
Dodge Charger/Chrysler 300
No shortage of good looking sedans and the Tesla next to any of them just looks boring and lazy. >inb4 ALL THOSE ARE SO UGLY YOU HAVE SHIT TASTE LMAO ICEhomosexualS

The Karma should have won out, it's such a beautiful car. Especially in person, the swoop is perfectly proportioned.

The top model S is probably 1/1,000 of total US sales if that.
I rode in one, and it immediately ate an axle shaft.

10% are all EVs, not just Teslas, let alone Model Ses, let alone Plaids

EVs have crossed the 10% threshold now, but some are 300hp entry level cars.
I really don't even get where the weight is. The battery in it is pathetically small.
Serious disappointment for me. Was really hoping for something a lot more game changing.
GM has an awesome PHEV powertrain design, why won't they put it in anything?
That would make sense since its also what makes a Model 3 tip the scales at over 4000lbs, but it also gains 20kWh for a 75kWh usable battery pack over the lighter weight RWD Model 3.
What did they do, just slap an electric motor and a tiny battery into the front end of a gas car with no other changes and call it a day?
The ICE Z06 is 3400lbs which is not exactly a light starting point. It may have a small pack but it still needs a lot of cells to get to the 400V+ the motors run on which is not going to be light. Then you got the front drivetrain, the mounts and the chassis reinforcement. That's where those 600lbs are.
What I don't get is why supercapacitors aren't used in small burst applications like these. They're light and will take and discharge massive amounts of power over and over. It's easy to tune their voltage and current too.
The motors and battery pack add ~300 lbs. according to GM. The 4000 lb. number is the estimated curb weight based on the ~3700 lb. curb weight of a 3LT Stingray as previously measured by C&D.
Yeah, GM really wants to market their $104,000 starting price sports car on a board populated by poor chronically online losers that play make-believe with other losers.
>sports car
I mean let's be honest the gm corvette is not a sports car, it's a lifestyle car with sporty styling and most people just call them hairdressers cars.
>The Wikipedia forum and a gm fangirl forum as a source
LOL, LMAO
Just be honest with yourself, it's not a sports car.

You're in serious fricking denial. You ask 99.99% of people and they'll say a Corvette is a sports car. Any auto magazine, any auto forum, hell even competitors will call it a sports car. It's not an offroader, it's not a utility vehicle, it's a fricking sports car. You're the only autist harping on and on that it's not a sports car.
>Nearly 4,000lbs
What were they thinking?
In 2023, the accepted minimum standard for an average car is 1000hp, so even 4000lbs really doesn't matter.
Very few production cars have 1000hp or more.
How does 10% of new cars sold sound for you?

Dec 20, 2022 — If you take every new car today into consideration, the overall average horsepower of vehicles today is between 200 and 250 horsepower.

What the frick.
That's like 1 AWD launch
And I assume the AWD front end is what made the car around 4,000lbs.
That would make sense since its also what makes a Model 3 tip the scales at over 4000lbs, but it also gains 20kWh for a 75kWh usable battery pack over the lighter weight RWD Model 3.

feather weight for an EV
Anon, its not even close. Its also really under powered at less than 1 horsepower per kg.
Yeah, because none of you own one.
Nobody on earth owns one.
