It's not about them being an investment, anon. The fact is that through depreciation you lose money on the asset that is a car. You usually use the residual value of the current car you own to help you buy the next car. If EVs depreciate much more than ICE cars, you're invariable going to have less money to fund a purchase of a more expensive car. This cycle is such that you'd never make any of the "savings" advertised by the EV crowd. Look, I am not saying that EVs don't have a role, but the fact is that they're not a good financial decision at this point in time. Keep your current car, and do your maintenance.
