I know I sound like a douche but I love my humble all-new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee in Limited trim. This is the life and I regret not leasing something this nice sooner. It is so relaxing not worrying about your car breaking down, not worrying about new brakes or new tires or other bullshit maintenance and tows. A new car is peaceful. Bliss. It's so cozy, it smells so good, the sound system is great, the pano roof is nice at night especially, and it glides over potholes.
And of course there are benefits to your image and perception. I'm not deluded, obviously nobody assumes I'm rich because I drive a new JGC. It's just that nobody assumes I'm a broke college dropout apartment dwelling creep with a narcotic addiction and likely criminal record, you know what I mean. A half-decent new car gives you a clean slate when meeting people. It makes you look at least baseline intelligent, stable, competent, and clean cut. People see you differently and you in turn feel differently, in a good way.
Anyways, I truly encourage any of you out there on the fence to just trade in the your beater and lease a new car. You only live once. Life is too short to be an adult man driving a beater around and having everyone assume the worst about you. And let's be honest, a lease of $300 to even $500 or $600 or $700 is not really a significant sum in the grand scheme of things, especially something you spend so much time in and people judge you by.
>leasing
Lmfao have a nice day you homosexual salesman.
Kys gay I’d rather sink my entire savings into a 2nd gen Cummins because at least I wouldn’t be a homosexual
sorry bro
Cummins is one of the biggest progressive homosexual supporting companies in existence.
You will never make it.
I'm not paying 500 dollars a month so I can have a new car.
>its not significant in the grand scheme of things
bruh 700 is a third of my take home pay after all my bills are paid why the frick would I ever do this?
It's not like your current car costs literally $0 a month. You paid or pay something for it, plus maintenance.
I have a prius that I own outright. It costs maybe 60 a month in gas and 80 in insurance.
you still have to factor in wear parts and other maintenance/repairs, which is very much not nothing. however anyone who thinks it's comparable in cost to a lease is absolutely moronic
>And let's be honest, a lease of $300 to even $500 or $600 or $700 is not really a significant sum in the grand scheme of things
People will seethe about this but what is finding a good wife worth (no, I don't mean a gold digger, just a cute babe who would be repelled by your sketchy beater, as she should), what are more social invitations worth, what is your boss giving you a promotion worth. What is being a more confident man worth? What is being taken seriously worth? Far more than a few hundred bucks a month.
When I see poor gays driving cars like OPs pic I just assume they're leasing.
Lmao.
You will never be wealthy. Stay poor lease gay.
When I see an adult driving a new Grand Cherokee I just assume they're middle to upper middle class, probably college educated, and have some sort of professional career. If it's a teen or college kid driving it, I assume they're from a fairly well off family.
When I see an adult male driving a beater, I feel sorry for them and assume they've made a series of very poor decisions over the course of their life.
When I see anyone driving any car ever, I don't thing a single thing because I don't fricking care. I don't care about them, their perception of me, or if I'll ever encounter this random strangers in their car again. I make my own way in life without needing to prop up my personality with materialistic bullshit. I drive what I want, do what I want, wear what I want, and say anything I want, because my value doesn't come from a fabricated persona based around consumerism and social status.
So edgy and contrarian. I bet you’re super fun to be around, lots of status in your community, friends with all the big shots, have all the local debutante babes trying to have your baby, and recruiters constantly call and email offering you higher and higher salaries
nice bait
Lmao STFU, you think all that stuff magically shows up when you leave a Jeep or some other basic normie's car? If anything it's a deterrent to all that since anyone that matters can see how shitty you are with your money thus becoming more reluctant and less likely to extend you opportunity
Building status, rapport, and a good reputation in a community usually involves being from good stock and having an education, owning a home, decent career, and sharp appearance. A shitbox car is going to immediately raise an eyebrow, unless you're so well known and filthy rich that it doesn't matter. But that's obviously not the case for the average 20 and 30-something DA anon. A 20- or 30-something male in a shitbox in stranger danger sketchy.
It seems many of you are so used to looking and feeling low class, you can't imagine not looking and feeling that way. Sometimes you have to spend a little money to get out of that mentality and disrupt your optics. Nobody is saying go lease a tacky Mercedes CLS while living in a dumpy apartment. But a respectable new car is hardly the big deal you all make it seem. It will improve your life and outlook and reduce your stress levels in ways you can't imagine.
This exact mentality is why half of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.
It's America. Live fast, consume and take chances. You certainly don't make it being an apartment dwelling b***h on the sidelines driving a beater and having zero status in your community because everyone assumes you're sketchy. It might not be nice but that's reality.
Tell that to all the "indebted" Americans who bought "too much" car and "too much" house and "too much" vacation home a few years ago who've been driving the damn new cars for free and made hundreds of thousands of dollars off their real estate they couldn't "really" afford. Going big is the American way. Being the broke adult male in a beater isn't getting you taken seriously anywhere unless your a tech or wall street zillionaire and the shitty car is your shtick some p.r. firm cooked up. Which you're not, obviously.
We are entering a recession. Enjoy your lease while being unemployed. You will own nothing and be miserable.
>not a chally wally
aint care
No.
>tiny coupe
Be honest, how do you feel at a stop light getting mogged by a 16 y/o girl in a new Wrangler Unlimited and also, when you can't see to make a left turn because you're surrounded by gigantic new Tahoes, F-150s, Range Rovers, RAMs, and Expeditions?
I don't care. I have a smaller coupe too.
You see when your 6'3 you stand taller than a truck by default so it's really not as much of a novelty to "sit high"
I'm 6'2" and anytime I drive my dad's Audi sedan I can't see shit. It's a really nice car but it feels dangerous in my area because 90% of the cars are huge SUVs and pickups and every boomer is in a taller crossover.
>hubcaps
subhuman
I have shitty aftermarket wheels, I wish I had the wheels on picrel. someone in the honda general just got a set, lucky bastard
Anybody buying a used car out of warranty has to be absolutely insane unless they have money to burn. Have fun driving your outdated shitbox and paying for maintenance when you could be spending that on payments on a new car.
I'd rather have the new car with more up to date styling, better safety ratings, more up to date features etc. Personally, I don't buy used and probably never will, regardless of our finances. I'm happy to let someone else get israeliteed by mechanics when they take their 7 year old POS goes into the shop every other month.
>buy a 2008 toyota camry LE in 2017 for like 7000
>all I've replaced in 6 years of ownership is the water pump and done the transmission fluid
>this has been maybe 300 in shit since
ok moron. Meanwhile chrysler dealerships will make shit up and force you to pay a $500 "diagnostic fee" and if its a warranty item only then will they refund your money.
post boobs
0/10 bait
>Have fun driving your outdated shitbox and paying for maintenance when you could be spending that on payments on a new car.
i enjoy knowing you pay more per month for your car than i do on maintenance per year.
I do not care about how you feel, nor how you think i feel. I enjoy my car simple as.
>surrounded by gigantic new Tahoes, F-150s, Range Rovers, RAMs, and Expeditions
>downshift
>step on the gas
problems weren't
FRICK ME dude its beyond over man FRICK I WILL NEVER HAVE THIS FRICK. god i hate new cars so much
we will never have low slung hoods like this again
we will never have crazy ass experimental engines again
we will never have smooth curved bodys like this again
how "cool" do you feel parking your leased vehicle in the parking lot for the apartments you live in poorgay?
Anon here making the real points.
>Leased normie Jeep
>Drives to wagie job
>Lives in also leased apartment
All for
>"TheY wIlL sEe I'm successful"
This
In the real world nobody really gives a frick what you drive unless its covered in weird tinfoil hat shit. Everyone is too busy with their own shit. The only exception is if your car is used to represent a business and meeting clients.
>The only exception is if your car is used to represent a business and meeting clients
...in which case your company will provide you with a leased bmw anyway
>everyone mogging me with a new car is aCtUaLlY a poor wage cuck apartment dweller drowning in debt
coping samegay
Lol my newest car is a 2002 and my main car is a 1994. I bought a house 5 years ago. You can lease all the new cars you want but get a house if you want to wow people with your financial stability
This. I've got a fleet of shitboxes, but I'm a younggay and own a house, which is what matters more anyways.
>buy a new car in a recession
>lose job
>stuck in lease, can't sell it like a used car
>start sucking dick for your new car
these literal leasegays, kek.
I wonder if anyone (on this board) is stupid enough to listen to OPs advice.
Is any grown ass man here in their 20s and 30s dumb enough to lease a reasonable new car? It's not dumb, millions of college kids do this right after they graduate at 22 years old. It's called adulthood and caring about how you're perceived. Try it sometime. And also, it's called making enough that you can afford to pay a small premium to not waste time or stress on dealing with a used car breaking and needing repair.
>college kids
>smart
anon.. normal people are fricking idiots.
Yes goy, lease the new car, do it again in 3 more years goy. Make new car payments perpetually goy. Yes yesss don't you like new car smell
>to not waste time or stress on dealing with a used car breaking and needing repair.
if you had a dad growing up you wouldnt be stressed out about basic maintenance.
This. Dad showed me all kinds of shit to do to keep my car running and running good. I am 42 and he's 76 and I'll still pick his brain what's up when my car is doing unusual shit since odds are he's seen something similar before.
>leasing a car while being a rentiod
If you purchase a car that cost more than 10% of your annual income before buying a house then you have failed at being an adult. If you rent a car you have failed as an adult. If you are renting anything then you are failing as an adult.
>It makes you look at least baseline intelligent, stable, competent, and clean cut. People see you differently and you in turn feel differently, in a good way.
You are pathetic. You are not the piece of metal that you drive.
>Shilling for debt
Debt is slavery. Frick off, moron.
>SUV
homosexual.
>A half-decent new car gives you a clean slate when meeting people.
how do you make sure they see your car though?
The tire wet on the Jeep made me laugh. Great bait
Drove a rented 2022 Toyota camry recently and bros... It was a huge step up from my shitbox 2009 mazda3. The brakes were so tight a small puff of air would bring me to a dead stop. I was backing into every space with the rear-view camera. The car was clear and not covered in a lifetime of sand and dirt from camping. The belt didn't squeak. And the gas mileage, my god, the gas mileage. I filled up once and drove well over 300 miles while I was renting the car. I filled up and drove for an hour before returning it and the tank was still on F.
Used car bros... it's over. There is no argument to not go out to your local dealership and finance a new car. There are so many financing options and incentives right now you'd be stupid NOT to go out and purchase or lease a new vehicle.
This unironically. New Camry wouldn’t be my first choice unless you’re a 40 or 50 something middle class Asian woman but newer is always better
>limited trim
>plastic cladding
>those wheels
The hell it is
Why pay $2,000 to remove 18” wheels for a harsher ride on your daily driver? Base wheels make it a soft ride. Last SUV I had the large ghetto optional wheels and not only did it make the ride harsh, I ended up with two bent rims and a popped tire because of potholes.
The true pill ia to lease 2-3 year old cars that have some of the depressiation gone.
>leasing a used car
Not too smart, are we?
I spent a few years doing end of lease inspections and thoroughly enjoyed the look on leaselets faces when they receive the bill for thousands of dollars in excessive wear and tear charges. You will pay for each and every scratch dent and scuff. You will be charged thousands of dollars to replace the bald tires. You will pay for the coffee stains and boogers under your seat. If you're a vaper they will tag the car as a biohazard. It's a $500 fee if they smell smoke, you're not allowed to smoke in leased vehicles OP. If you drive just one mile over your allotted limit you will be charged a flat fee and then you will also pay for each and every excess mile you put on the odometer. I once charged a guy over ten grand cause he doubled the allowed mileage on his Volkswagen. What a moron. Speaking of Volkswagen, if I saw sludge on the oil cap I was instructed to charge the lessee $750 even if they had a full record of timely oil changes. It's not your vehicle and you signed the lease agreement. Better start saving some money for turn in day.
Nothing makes o seethe more than peers with new cars.
I paid off my 2018 frontier and can do whatever I want with it without paying dealer fees. Leasing is right for richgays who don’t care about owning cars, but I ain’t rich, and I prefer to own my property.
I've actually been thinking about leasing my next car, since my previous car was really maintenance-intensive and I'm not sure if I want to roll the dice on whether or not my next car has issues.
But damn, it is expensive.
>driving cars you cannot afford and paying for it with the money you don't have from the house you don't own to the dead-end wagecuck job you have to keep to afford the interest on all the other people's money you're using
boggles the fricking mind how fricking braindamaged and conditioned from birth you have to be to not only consider this situation as "acceptable" but "comfortable" to the point where it's desirable to you.
ted was right
boggles the mind how much some people seem to love the idea of owning stuff
doesn't matter who you are, it only takes a second to lose everything you own
You will own NOTHING and you will be HAPPY
..... for just $999.99 a month plus tip plus reparations plus jizya (paid entirely in amazonbux only redeemable on amazon.ca)
i don't care about owning anything really
why should I?
Say one word wrong and the company that owns everything shuts you down
You should be working in cash or barter only, living on land you own, paying no tax and shooting anyone that tries to force you to prop up a failed state
You are a slave if you do not live free, and you're paying handsomely for the privilege
>Say one word wrong and the company that owns everything shuts you down
Do you people never read contracts?
Why would I read contracts? I don't hold any debt, to no man nor nameless apparition of finance
Unlike some, I have no compulsion to feed the beast of unholy greed
I'm guessing you also don't have a phone, an Internet plan, etc.
>Phone
Pay as you go
>Internet plan
No actually, see above, pay as you go.
Congrats, you have signed at least two different contracts.
>You are a slave if you do not live free
nobody is free, never was never will be
even back in cave man times if you made your tribe mad they killed you
the government doesn't care that you "own" the land your on. If they get mad at you, they're going to throw you in jail or kill you
I die on my feet, like a man. When they come for me, I will make my stand.
I'll take as many with me to hell as I can, do not submit to evil.
and then you're dead and everything you owned is now the guberments property
good job, you're the real winner here
You're right, I am the winner, because I stood on my feet and fought for what is mine instead of rolling over like a good little b***h when your self described master demanded it.
I mean I could do the same thing if the bank comes for "my" daily driver, or my landlord comes for "my" apartment. End result would be the same.
Say that to the barrel of my gun
a gun isn't going to do shit when you get t-boned by a drunken semi driver in a intersection
No but I'll be dead so then why does it matter?
That's my point. In less than a second out of the blue you could end up dead.
That's why I'm not so keen on owning stuff. I've been close to death multiple times. Hell, the last time was just couple of months ago. I lost my balance and ended up spending a weekend in ER with a cracked skull.
I care about what I can experience now more.
this is what society does to people. breaks them down, and forces their consent in a way that makes them think it's of their own volition. genuinely fricking pathetic, you should have died in that ER instead of being a subservient cog in the machine that put you there to begin with.
>Debt golems frantically crying POORgay at anyone that doesn't fall for $499.99 + tip a month for a base model shitbox that you don't even own
While OP is cringe that Limited GC comes standard with 4x4, panoramic roof, leather interior, huge screen, wifi, dual climate control, heated seats front and rear, power front seats, LED headlights, remote start, keyless entry, parking sensors, blind spot monitor, on and on.
It’s hardly a poverty spec suv.
>V6
>hardly poverty spec
Choose one
For a daily driver, why pay extra money for a 14mpg v8? Just lighting money on fire.
A 7.3L F250 does better than 14MPG, on what earth is the tiny 5.7l crossover with cylinder deactivation going to get low teens MPG?
Why would you want to daily drive a V6 and announce to the world you’re failure to become a productive member of society?
Based OP sending creditscorelets into an sobbing seethe.
yeah not worrying about maintance sounds nice. but for the cost of a few bucks and a few hours a month, i can save enough money to not have to work an extra 40 hours a month to pay for the lease
>It makes you look at least baseline intelligent, stable, competent, and clean cut.
Everything you said is moronic but let me focus on this. If you made smart choices in life you wouldn’t need a new car to appear this way. A 4th Gen 4Runner, a GMT800, an F150 of any year or generation in clean condition makes you look like a responsible adult.
A unibody 4 cylinder piece of shit, particularly when they are front wheel drive, make you appear broke, uneducated, and emasculated.
>A unibody 4 cylinder piece of shit, particularly when they are front wheel drive, make you appear broke, uneducated, and emasculated.
No matter if it’s 20 years old or 2 years old.
>A unibody 4 cylinder piece of shit, particularly when they are front wheel drive, make you appear broke, uneducated, and emasculated.
Literally no one thinks of this outside of autists.
Not in so many words but they do see a shitbox Kia and think "oh that's not a very nice car", something that they don't think of say a 20 year old Range Rover in good condition
But that has nothing to do with the car and its qualities, and everything to do with the badge.
Someone driving a BMW 316d is gonna get more respect from said badgeprostitutes than anyone with a Kia Stinger GT.
It absolutely has something to do with the car and it's qualities
A Kia Equus will command more respect than a 116i, purely from road presence and design language alone.
>from road presence
You mean size? That's maybe all it gets any respect from.
>design language
lolno
You clearly have no idea of what you're talking about, please educate yourself and purchase a car before you post again
I know that you're talking out of your ass. Absolutely no one outside of some autists is gonna appreciate your Kia's design no matter how much you love it.
I drive a 2003 Jaguar XJ my friend, perhaps you should post car
No one needs to think it, someone driving a 1990 Grand Wagoneer in great shape appears more wealthy, affluent, and educated than the woman (because no man would drive a..) in the 2022 CLA.
The point is a vehicle built on a decent platform - that’s not made to be leased and disposed of, commands more respect no matter its age than the latest greatest lard mobile 4 cylinder. Anyone that gets excited exclusively by ‘new’ is chronically poor financially and of taste.
Really applies to anything made in the last 50 years.
Yeah no. You're in the minority.
Lmao, nope. I drive a 28 year old Benz and the only other Benz owners at places I work either own the place or are in upper management/executives
I think a better argument can be made that more DA anons should lease a base spec RWD Model 3 for $600 a month. At least then you’re avoiding not only maintenance issues but petrol station fees as well. And Teslas have a level of cachet which a basic b***h, rental fleet looking Grand Cherokee lacks.
The only problem with that is Tesla is a garbage company that will lock you into their iphone like "community" and you have to associate with the cult
You seem stupid. You dont earn good money, do you?
I am an aircraft mechanic, if you've flown American in the last 7 years I've probably fitted flaps to the wings
Yeah bro I'm sure you've personally work on most of AA's 900+ aircraft.
I work mostly on the 737s, largely on wings but I've also been involved in tire changes and landing gear hydraulics. I work on 3-4 aircraft a week and I've lost count of how many have been through the hangar. At a guess, probably over 100 unique aircraft
If you don't like Tesla, a Leaf would also offer low running costs, without subscription services. (overseas model shown)
The Model 3 lease is only that cheap with 10k annual miles. 10,000 miles / 30 miles per gallon = $1,700 is gas savings. But it’s not pure $1,700 in savings a year because electricity and Tesla super chargers aren’t free. Even if you can charge for free at work or whatever, that breaks down to savings of $140 a month.
I’m not saying the Model 3 is a bad car or even a bad car to lease but let’s not mislead anons with exaggerations.
>I think a better argument can be made that more DA anons should lease a base spec RWD Model 3 for $600 a month
this
sorry no I don't drive chink shit
All of the Model 3s sold in the U.S. are assembled in Fremont, California
>assembled
average anon here cant get approved for a lease or loan from tesla
This thread kinda of reminds me of the poorgays on DA that get super butthurt if you say you never buy physical games.
>leasing stellantis
Either double digit iq or Black person lmao.
>lease
No thanks, I'd rather have something to show for the thousands I spent after the term is over. Fricking hate being stuck renting my house because the bank israelites will gladly charge you thousands for rent a month but as soon as you ask for a mortgage, oh no you can't afford $800 a month.
>muh perception
Everyone in this country is broke you dumb Black person, why do I give a shit what my braindead boomer boss thinks about what I drive? He's in debt up to his eyeballs like everyone else.
OP is the biggest homosexual I have ever seen on this board.
>your image and perception
American hands typed this. KeK.
I bought something I don't worry about at all, and projects exactly the image I want everyone to see. It only cost me 3k.
>and projects exactly the image I want everyone to see
a chubby mexican in an 80s shitbox?
>chubby
170 at 5'11" ain't thin
>mexican
It's called a tan, something you'd have if you ever went outside
>80's shitbox
70's, and a project.
or you can, buy your car, keep it for 3 years and... get this buy another one and still have some extra cash left over and you wont even have to worry about new tires or brakes by then
DIPSHIT
I'd rather just buy my car, if I wanted to lease I'd just buy 2 year old cars on 48-month 0% finance deals instead and sell them at the end (or trading in back to the dealer, which whilst a lump cost is generally cheaper than leasing under the same circs).
I even did the maths on leasing through my company. The upside is that it becomes tax deductible - but this would also be true of buying a company car. Even so, and at business lease rates, it's not worth it unless I was driving something that cost ~<£40k new, which I'm not.
Flyover state hands made this post. The NPC vehicle on the coasts is a leased white Model 3 or Y.
this reads like a new marketing campaign strategy from stellantis
This is all a psyop from dealers associations nationwide. Frick you israelites. I will lease and finance as I see fit, under 4% max, certified funds from my credit union. I will wait for the exact spec I want, I will not pay any transfer fee for you to get the vehicle from one of your locations to another one of your locations. I will not pay for any additional accessories not included by the manufacturer. The vehicle will be kept pristine, ppf'd in a two-car garage, in a white neighborhood, where delivery is easily available. And I work from home predominately. When I get bored of the car and it's time to trade in, the car will be immaculate and under mileage. I will dare you to find anything wrong with it to undercut me. You won't. Oh and you'll never get me to agree to your extended warranty I always get my unused gap insurance premium back, frick you.
> I love my humble all-new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee in Limited trim
all-new huh? are you sure it isn't just partly new? maybe they recycled some old parts.
