If you had to buy an ultra fuel efficient car, which one would you buy?

If YOU had to buy a car whose ONLY AND MAIN OBJECTIVE was that it was FUEL EFFICIENT, which one would you buy?

Using a public charger is more expensive than using a gas car in Europe.

You said fuel efficient, not cheap. Tesla is using zero fuel, so it's by default infinitely efficient. Progress ain't free.

Money no object it would have to be this bar of soap on wheels.

If not the obligatory Toyota Prius has to be chosen. If you actually cared about the environment the best choice would be an old petrol Toyota Aygo or VW polo or something which has already paid off the manufacturing emissions footprint, doesn't have a god awful battery pack, doesn't roll coal and is relatively simple to maintain.

I’d unironically kms if I had to make a vehicle purchase based off of fuel economy. I hope to never be that poor.

assuming it would never go on a road trip I'd rather have an electric car so I no longer had to mingle with the plebs at gas stations.

man diesels really do cheat the whole fuel efficiency vs reliability vs power thing but for some reason the north american market doesn't have it
its all because of boomers and oldsmobile along with zoomers knowing nothing about cars at all.

This. Overall Prius is the most economical, at least for anyone who drives a lot, and comfy for all that. About half the cars in my pix from North Loop towers are Prius taxis. (To be fair I mostly got around there by Uber X in Ford 500s and Cadillac Devilles and such, but that's another story.)

ez any toyota hybrid with the ecvt after 2015. I know someone that gets 60mpg in a 2019 prius. it is a soulless appliance like every modern toyota but it's a peak a-to-b car if you don't care about anything else.
