Idfk I'd drive one of these instead of the Corvette its based on since I am not some boomer with ED and a mustache and white sneakers. These looked like if you made a Mercedes R129 with Roblox
>Mercedes R129 with Roblox
and thats a good thing
unironically
That's exactly my point, I like the look of these
>hey boomers, buy our modern hot rod
>with a Dodge Intrepid V6
>hey boomers, buy our modern hot rod convertible pickup truck
>but it's built on an SUV truck frame, weighs as much as an SUV, the carpeted bed with a non-detachable tonneau is fricking useless and the V8 is gutless besides the final two years when they finally used a Corvette engine
It was supposed to be refined luxury rival to an SL not a sports car
If you wanted a corvette with an truck motor you would just buy a corvette
Chevrolet Tahoe: 6,500 lbs 10 MPG Plastic Tonka Truck Edition
Don't be talking shit about Tonka, nobody else could make a dump truck and other heavy equipment cool.
Frick you I like the H2.
It seems they put an Ls1 into everything but a Corvette styled by Cadillac
I'm bummed about it too because I really wanted to buy one until I learned it has a northstar
>dogshit northstar
Please explain what makes the Northstar dogshit.
If my dog's shit leaks that much oil i'd be making a vet appointment
>gutless
>leaks oil
>snaps head bolts
The Northstar was fixed by the time they started putting it in longitudinal applications. The XLR-V makes more power than the base C6, not exactly gutless.
It's closer to an updated C5 frame, not exactly a C6.
They thought the power would be "enough" and that the LC3 was smoother than the LSs. Also being their top-shelf vehicle they wanted to present it as penultimate Cadillac refinement of a Corvette. The target audience also wasn't enthusiasts; it was 60-70 year old boomers.
What they didn't account for is the CTS-V absolutely mogging the shit out of their entire lineup for performance vehicles.
the RWD northstars don't have the same head gasket problems, also 06-up FWD. the sts-v gets 475hp stock out of a supercharged 4.4l northstar so they can't be that bad
T. northstar enthusiast
Biggest blunder of the 2010s, as far as motorsports goes anyway
They should have waited another year to work out the bugs. It was pointless to run the car in the condition they did.
The plan was to pull a fast one on the ACO before they could snuff out their power level, then the 2016 car would be more in line with what the other 3 competitors we're running in and out of Le Mans
>Hey guys, check out our weird and quirky FWD racecar!
>Haters gonna hate lmao, also it won't actually be shit because it's actually AWD and not FWD like we said
>Oops, turns out this AWD thing is harder than we expected, guess we'll just have to run it as FWD
>Come on guys, it's still cool even though it's broken down wrong wheel drive piece of shit slower than GT3 cars, right?
>Please keep caring about my racecar
>Please?
>...
Heard the frame bends on it too
it's literally just a c6 frame.
Cadillac hasn't done anything right in my lifetime. I'm 39 years old. I keep rooting for them and they keep doing dumb stuff overall. There are a few gems in there...
The ctsv has been done right since they came out
the new gen Escalade is kino. everything else and I mean everything else Cadillac makes is a joke. spare the Blackwing sedan crap--if you had the money you would not piss it away on a Caddy sedan
>le performance SUV
Automakers need to stop forcing this meme, you need to be a special kind of moron to buy one of these.
The Escalade is what Cadillac should be, a WW2 plane engine driving a Renaissance era salon. Difference is they put something other than gas lamps in finally. Escalade is the only good Cadillac out right now, that Celestiq or whatever will be the second.
it's a donked station wagon
disgusting
>modern gm suv
>kino
and a fellow black lives matter to you, laquandariousness
aren't parts for these unobtanium now? shame because I quite like the look.
It’s built on the c6 chassis, could swap a ls into it with not a lot of effort I think.
There are no headlight or taillight assemblies available anymore. If you need to find one, then to ebay you go hoping to find some new old stock or something pulled from a parts car. And the reason you'll be looking is because one of yours is not working. And you'll care because you can't pass safety inspection without lights. Also the hydraulic folding hardtop needs a special computer to do any kind of maintenance.
so a minor rear or front fender bender is enough to total this turd out? no wonder you don't see any of the road anymore. it also looks dated as shit. the "bubble" SC conv aged far better than the xlr
>ls
They probably wanted car to feel normal and not like a diesel
