TBF I think he was treated that way earlier in his career when he was still mostly a nobody. But, then again, I don't think anyone gets the top Ferraris without owning the lower ones. Frick the whole company, Corvette FTW.
You're worth half a billion and have a 180 car private collection whose Youtube snippets about you treat as a generous gift to the public, you don't get to lecture others on elitist behavior, you old c**t.
I've met multiple people who all verifiably met the big wop himself before.
They all said interacting with him is exactly like stepping onto an episode of his garage show. One of them owns a modified Caprice wagon which was their "showcar" and according to this person Jay asked just as many questions about this car as he would a guest on his show.
You'd have to be the most devout communist in the world to see Jay as an elitist and I'm sure even some tankies think he's cool.
I was really curious like 2 years ago and looked into it. >He felt treated like shit at the dealership. >He didn't want to buy the shitty Ferrari first to be able to maybe buy the cool one a few years later. >He didn't like how wrenching anything was frowned upon.
If I had Ferrari buying money, the last car I would buy would be a Ferrari. Because the company is a shit. Any car company with a holier than thou unwarranted sense of self importance is not worth the hassle. Stupid fricking self important Italians.
The only ferraris I really want are the ones they'd probably be more willing to sell to peasants and older ones I'd make sure to buy what I wanted then frick with them all to piss them off anyways and get blacklisted. It's at the top of the if I become frick you rich list tbh piss off ferrari.
It's not about "image" it's about Ferrari profiting. The whole deal bout things like deadmau5's purrari was because he didn't run it by Ferrari and Ferrari didn't get any money from it. Meanwhile things like
>It's also about image. They don't want to end up in trap videos with face-tattoed homies and twerking fat-ass dancers like Lamborghini
Specifically the SLQ009. It's a neat watch if you're a car guy. The subdials are all very motorsport looking. Especially with the red hands. Reminiscent of various dash gauges.
Say what you want about Rolex, but if you go into a israeliteelry store to buy one, the clerk won't force you to buy a used lesser model before you can purchase a new one.
Because they're literally and unironically the smug elitists of the car world. Ferrari owners tolerate not actually owning their cars (they effectively just sign a very long-term lease that they stop paying for after a few years which has ironclad clauses of what you can and cannot do with the car) just because it lets them keep out the riff-raff. The Cognoscenti are buttholes.

How did I know you'd just call me a Black person? Sure thing, I'll go to the Lamborghini dealership. At least I can ACTUALLY OWN MY FRICKING CAR. Seriously, how can you ponyfrickers actually defend not being able to do whatever you want to the car you drop 6 figures on? Are you seriously okay with a permanent lease because "It keeps the Black folk away"?

Ferrari owners can do whatever they want with their cars.
The only example you have otherwise was someone trying to sell a Ferrari as a different branded car.
It was only for some limited edition that they only wanted to sell to Ferrari owners. The story i liked was that Deadmau5 (some house dj) had a wrap with the nyan cat on his Ferrari and they got mad and told him to remove it so he bought a Lambo instead.

Iirc it's because he made a custom logo that said Purrari and it used a Ferrari font so they considered it a copyright infrigement, not because of the wrap itself

He modified the logo, which is a legal infringment.

They were pissed about the emblems when he listed the car for sale. And it was supposedly Trademark infringement, not copyright. Which would nix the possibility of a transformative "fair use" defense. Still cheaper to swap it back than pre-emptively sue over the C&D in court or wait for a lawsuit that also has to be litigated.
The other issue was that he would breach the "right of first refusal" that all new Ferrari owners agree to when purchasing their cars. Which states that owners need Ferrari's permission if they want to sell their cars.

Gas Monkey Garage was a shitty show.
They outsourced the real work to another shop down the street and took credit for it.
But...
When he got that wrecked F40 and "rebuilt" it, AND painted it black I laughed my ass off. I still laugh everytime I think of Ferrari fanbois crying over the mere mention of that car.
It's like he went to a Ferrari auction and took a shit on the podium.

Lambo is owned by Germans and sells to literally everybody. Who buys it? Mainly face-tattooed trapper homies who treat their cars like shit and ruin them.
Since we're shitting on Ferrari....
I worked for Exotic Racing in Las Vegas.
You can "rent" cars and take them on a road course. It's $200-$500 for a few laps.
They have Gallardos, a couple Aventadors, tons of Porsches, F440's, F458's, a GTR etc.
When Ferrari finds out they have one of their cars they cancel the warranty.
They also have some McLarens.
When a McLaren breaks down they send a flatbed from L.A. to pick it up and take it back to do an autopsy on the failure and bring it back in a day or two.
Mclaren is in constant contact and they want any and all information about the cars performance and issues.
I'm not shilling for McLaren, personally they don't "do it" for me. But what Jay was saying about their customer interaction is spot on. It's not just because he's a celebrity that likes cars and his reviews could actually have an affect on their sales- they genuinely care about customers, the purchasing experience and the ownership experience.
>Mclaren is in constant contact and they want any and all information about the cars performance and issues.
Especially when you're letting members of the public beat the shit out of your cars on a track constantly. That's data you WANT to know when that kind of stress testing costs a company a fortune because they would have to rent out a track, all the safety shit that goes with it, hire drivers, bring in mechanics for a long weekend. Et cetera, et cetera. Sending a flatbed to pick a car up is nothing for them so they can pick the car apart and go through the data logs.
Precisely. As mentioned. Doing their own testing will cost a fortune. Instead you sell a car to a place that runs track days. Jimmy "Lead Foot" McGee gets gifted a track day by his trophy wife and proceeds to beat the ever loving shit out of the car for a few hours and treat it like anyone does any other rental. Repeat several times a day, all week, for as long as it takes until the car breaks and wait for the call. For the price of a flatbed, go and get it picked up and then go through the car to see what's worn and any telemetry data to see how it's being driven.
You just can't get that kind of data about your consumer vehicle when you have a professional driver and team of mechanics spending a few hours each day over a weekend for a few million dollars. This is the same reason manufacturers will buy back million mile vehicles. Not just for the bragging rights, but so they can go through it and get the owners information on what they did to hit that milestone.

And mitigate the "issue". Don't want the cars to run too long after all.
But we're back to my original post.
Mclaren is the only manufacturer that does it.
Lamborghini and Ferrari void warranties.
Porsche ignores their existence.
But some McLaren rep calls them up on a Monday morning and says "hey, break my shit over the weekend?".
BTW.
I hate to say this.
The GTR was the fastest around the track.
I wish it was an Aventador or F440 scuderia but the family sedan that has a roofline a foot higher than everybody else is king.
I actually laughed at a pic I took showing that massive, bloated GTR with all the "supercars" around it.
BTW 2.0... an F440 scuderia is faster than an F458. But God damn that 458 is sexy

Its nice seeing Ferrari treat everyone equally shitty.
Did he crash a Tesla?
According to him it was a gasoline fire so ICE sisters BTFO.
It was actually a steam engine, Steamies BTFO.

When does he act like an elitist?
Jay's in the burn ward, his face covered in gauze, his supernaturally thick coif now singed to ashen stubble. He cannot hear you, anon.
This sent my sides into orbit and I don't know why kek.
I do not think that you comprehend the meaning of elitism.
He's exactly who gets to lecture others on the latest behavior since hes a prime candidate to be in the least yet hes not
I don't know if you're ESL or dictating your comment to siri, but either way stop it and I hate you.
We got a bad ass here folks. A real tough guy. Watch out.

the rich need to pay, every last one of those million dollar classic cars needs to be burned. it should be illegal to sell a car for more than $100k
>wop
jay leno is israeli, extremely so
like all other rich & famous TV people
guess i'm the most devout communist alive, LMAO
if i was jay leno i would not live in LA
thats really my only issue that i have with him that im aware of.
hes coping using his veil of wealth to avoid LA's shittier areas. if you were born in that city, you'd have to be coping hard to stay there.
He doesn't live in LA he just keeps his cars there, he lives in Newport
It's the best place to live if you're rich.
LA? Really? There are much better places to live in America than LA if you're rich.
Early 2000 Cali? When everybody (included all over the world) wanter to be in LA? Yes.

Then company affiliation. They're probably become over-selective due to dumb customers

get money for Ferrari
if those are his reasons i hope he doesnt own a Rolex too lmao
Seiko Kinetic is just one.

It's a frickin rare watch. I had the opportunity to buy one for 1k , ignored it .... Now you can get em for 3-4k
Only 1500 worldwide made.

Welcome to another episode of Jay Leno's garage
Jay Leno has finally become two face
