americans really do be like:
>make 7 litre engine with 90hp
>bro look how long it last
~120hp but 300lb/ft of torque
pulling 3 tons is like a warm knife though butter for this engine
22re gasps just pulling the body of a hilux
zoo wee mama
>hilux
>not using 4Y or 2L-T engine
I love how truckolds are like
>yeah I'm automotive enthusiast
>i like putting it in D with my 90 hp 10L and revvin to 2k rpm
>just gotta slow down for the turns and then get the gas once the wheel is straight
>boy I love driving at 52 mph pullin 5 tons of trash
They are an odd bunch but hey at least they aren't weebs.
As a normal person, aka someone that isn't living so far beneath the poverty line he's forgotten what the stars look like, I have both a low coupe and a massive truck.
Trucks are fun to frick around on dirt roads and cruise. You float and you don't fricking care how fast you're going because you don't have the possibility to actually go fast. It's called chilling out.
>if you live somewhere you can't see the stars that means you're poor
what the frick kind of moron shit is this? light pollution is everywhere
Sometimes it's so bad you rarely see much in the way of stars. Other times they're easy enough to see. And then there really are places where light pollution is negligible. I'm not saying I agree, but if you've never seen the difference then that's an even worse sign.
oldest recipe for longevity. Big bulk + Low rev + low compression ratio.
Mine makes 1.5HP and it's lasted about 100 years with only a valve job.
Old inefficient lumps of iron that have outlived generations are so fricking cool.
It's called under stressing your engine and is one of the best ways to keep it running forever. One reason why the 1uz is so good
Zoomers have no clue what that is, they've been raised to think everything is only a one time use, and that 4 cylinders putting out 300 horsepower is somehow the pinnacle of ICE technology.
Man you will just jump at any opportunities to diatribe about zoomers huh
Not that anon but he has a valid point.
We have become a disposable society. Not necessarily any particular generation's fault but zoomers don't know anything else. They think it's "normal" to throw away an $800 cellphone after a year and a half because it has a cracked screen rather than spend $15 for a replacement screen- after all they wanted the new model that has a camera with 10% more pixels.
If you don't want a cell phone then don't buy one. You're only part of this evil society if you decide to be a part of it. Stop complaining and take some personal responsibility already. Change it yourself, you lazy, entitled zoomer. How do you think it got there in the first place, people just sat around and complained that shit didn't stink enough?
yeah man one of the poorest generations ever that have lived and watched their parents struggle through constant economic upheval since they were born and have seen the collapse of nearly every reputable institution their parents relied on and steered them towards. thats the generation with the throwaway culture and mindless consumption.
stop whining
Well because you frickers are both idiots and have been given a bad lot in life.
>zoomers this zoomers that
please end your life by ingesting a lethal dose of tylenol, old fricking Black person
meant for:
why do you type like a Black person?
>americans really do be like:
>make 7 litre engine with 90hp
>bro look how long it last
It's a big engine
>outlasts your 22re by 500k miles and can actually take a bullet to the block
4ltr DA
I have 6 in my shop right now and several extra heads.
>Simple overbuilt thing lasts for frickever
I mean nothing wrong with that but it is what it is.
22r(e) is a shit motor, so fricking glad i swapped that piece of shit out of my toyota
the praise for these motors is absolute weeb cope, they're god damn trash
What did you replace it with?
Imo every toyota engine is overrated as shit.
They're not that reliable, they're not that moddable, they're not that powerful.
Only good thing is that they're plentiful and cheap because aside for MUH TWO JAYZEE MUH 4AGE BLACK TOP DROP TOP no one really wants them.
>What did you replace it with?
the engine behind it, om617
Oh shit, dangerously based. The weeb and toyotagay seething will be immense when you dropped an actually reliable engine in a toyota.
Did you rip it from a W123 or a G class?
i bought a w123 for 300 dollars and ripped the engine out of it, this engine isn't in that great of shape tho, i suspect the compression is down a bit
THey tend to get a lot of blowby when nearing the million kilometre mark, usually it's just the piston rings as the cylinders are some of the sturdiest fricking tubes I've ever seen.
Shame you had to part out a clean looking W123 for it, at least it was just a sedan and not the wagon.
Was it turbo or NA?
it's turbo, the outside was clean but the inside was rough and the trans was slipping
ill get around to a real exhaust once i move all the brake lines and stuff out of the way
You're not using the ancient Benz transmission in the truck are you?
Them automatics, which I'm assuming the Benz came with due to being an US one, tend to have issues shifting due to shitty vacuum lining, rarely I've heard of the autos slipping here in Europe.
The automatics are actually somewhat more desirable due to the manuals being just garbage in general, most of the time the syncros in them shit the bed before you hit 300k km and they have a nasty habit of popping out of gear even with fresh linkages.
nope it's the stock toyota manual with an adapter plate
What did the compression test show in each cylinder?
Not OP but these engines should get between 350-400 psi.
i thought swaps were supposed to be hard?? how does this one work???
Brother it is a om617 as long as you can make mounts and fit it to a transmission that fits in the tunnel it can go anywhere with relative ease.
you talk like making mounts is trivial man. so i cant have a om617 transversely in my civic?
that is like tens of thousands in fab work
You could also import some old diesel Civic from europe.
its not about wanting diesel its about the om617
Wtf mate
Just weld some scrap together
Its not rocket science.
he might be talking about the om606. the benz ecu is difficult to deal with for the layman so they usually mech pump swap them with built up 617 units. they bolt up with no mods other than rerouting new lines from what I remember.
No you have to use pumped up mechanical 603 unit. 617 is only a five cylinder so it doesn’t have the line for the extra cylinder.
he doesn't know what he's talking about
606 came mechanically injected from the factory in the w124
Are those just the non turbo ones cause I thought all the 606 turbos were ecu cause they came off the 98-99 years.
my bad yeah apparently only the NA ones got the mechanical pump, but yeah you're right tuned 603 pump on a 606
obviously a 617 pump wont work due to the missing cyl
could you also tune the mechanical 606 pump with bigger elements and slap it on a turbo motor?
I believe that it was much more restrictive or some other reason I can't remember but everyone who is building 606s uses a 603 mechanical pump.
>no mention of the 1uz
whew, i better get one now before the prices jump
Should have dropped an Isuzu diesel in there.
>Isuzu diesel swaps
Oh yes, this makes me moist.
Log off grandpa
Can my duratec 2.0l last this long how do I get it there?
>with only 3 rebuilds
anyone know how to patch panel my engine block? i blew it
>about 1999
>all american inline 6 motors go out of production
>damn near no new inline 6s
>washing machine tier v6s everywhere
>literally just a 1940s aircraft motor
The brits know how to make dogs of motors that just don't die
>outlasts you and the rest of you're car
Ford junk as always
