What are the odds the EV Ram 1500 will be any good? Especially with touting a 500 mile range, could they really sweep the EV/PHEV truck market?

>Chrysler
>will be any good
they couldnt pour water out of a boot if the instructions were on the heel, dog shit ass company that got shilled by brandon so poorgays will coom
Can they innovate? That would depend upon how much their parent company wants them to succeed in the United States. They may reach their target goal, but their product will be utter shite as it always has been.
>Can they innovate?
my brother in christ they have been making cars for shit for centuries, you queers see some shiny shit and believe ur reaching a new paradigm where we will all drive these and be happy. sorry to say that is not happening. it'll barely sell on IPO. heck i'd be surprised if they even will be seen on the roads. all vaporware jfc
Can you not see the forest for the trees? I'm right there with you dude.
>makes proposal
>i'm on your side
it will have the same downsides as every other electric truck. so no, it won't be good as a truck.
The downsides only affect 2% of the market.
Most truck buyers don't use their vehicle as a truck, so performance is irrelevant to them. The point still stands, electric trucks have downsides as trucks.
Yea, but 98% of truck owners won't be affected.
>it doesnt matter if its a shitty truck
*siiiiiip*
Not shitty if it meets the consumer demands.
A sedan would meet those consumers demands. It's still shitty in its capability as a truck.
No it wouldn't. It would fail the "needs to look like a pickup truck" requirement.
>Most truck buyers don't use their vehicle as a truck
Which is why electric trucks are so good.
It'll be as pointless as the Lightning.
The tools with money to buy this sort of gimmick shit also have various toys they want to move between lake cabins.
They're not going to touch it if it can't go anywhere towing at even half the rated capacity.
Most people who drive pickups never toe anything in their life.
because most people that drive pickup trucks don't have a foot fetish
I have some news for you.
>trusting "american" car makers with electronics.
That is gonna be a no for me. Chrysler makes it a a hard NO!
homie, American cars have had electronics in them since before your dad was a twinkle in your grandpa's eye.
Does not matter if they invented the engine American company are penny pinching israelites that will ruin the things they make because some one else made it cheaper, and they over estimate their quality.
American Engineers in the car industry are israeli as frick.
Interior is probably going to be best in class vs the Silverado and F150, but I don't have much confidence in the drivetrain. Stellantis basically has zero experience in EVs while Ford and GM are on their 2nd/3rd generation products respectively.
Stellantis is shoveling in cash like everyone else but the first few years may be rough.
>500 mile range
HAHAHA
the f Juan shitty barely eeks out 200 miles entirely unloaded, how the frick is the ram gonna get more than double that? fill the entire truck bed with batteries?
>fill the entire truck bed with batteries?
Yes. It won't have a payload. The Silverado EV does this and has less payload than a Maverick or Caravan.
Not a single Ram truck has been worth a shit long term, so this one won't be any different. Expect a plethora of mechanical/electrical issues, especially with this first gen model.
Those guys drove it through Alaska with a camper topper on the bed, but I haven't had a chance to watch it.
They've been rushing for a full year now since getting the "hint" from moronic investors and clueless politicians.
They probably found a supplier to do most of the electrical systems for them.
>That pic
Oh god, I cringed out of my skin and I'm a big fan of EVs and reducing pollution.
>They probably found a supplier to do most of the electrical systems for them.
Why look for one? FCA already owns Magnetti Marelli
Just meant it in a sense that they're probably not trying to develop something completely cutting edge and new from scratch, just using what somebody else already has access to.
Not that I know what garbage Stellantis has added to its trash heap of random failed brands.
Why was Chrysler so slow to make EVs, bros? In 30 years people will be telling stories of how ridiculously short-sighted Chrysler was and use it as an example of how not to run a company. There's a good chance that being this far behind on EVs could be their death.
They *could* be smart and see what works or fails and improve on it after seeing whats being put out. Or not, and just perform terribly
