Because the Corvette cant go over speed bumps and potholes without scraping, cant take 3 passengers around, the convertibles sometimes leak, they are too low for a good view of the road, the gearbox isn't ideal for stop & go traffic in a rainy hilly city. I think if the economy wasn't as fricked and demand was still there, they likely would've built a lot more than 1,100.
This looks like a typical ugly English car of that era and the front looks like a ripoff of the foxbody Mustang of the early 90s. The sad part is that this is still aesthetically better than what we have today.
