what's a good alternative to the SVX that doesn't cost 20k used?
>Japanese
>early 90s or late 80s
>GT
>at least a little bit quick
>the weirder the better

Just get a WRX and a bodykit
>GT
I want something comfy with a nice interior, speed and handling are a bonus but the priority is comfort and build quality
WRX is a gt though
gts are bigger
imprezas are hobbit size
What do you think an WRX is then?
Depending on which generation or body style, either a sport sedan/sports coupe (first gen was offered as a 2 door, that counts) that competes with hot hatches, or a hot hatch.
>sport
I mean let's be honest, they are not sports cars, they are lifestyle cars with sporty styling.
Most people just call them hairdressers cars.
the Impreza WRX appeals to snapback wearing monster drinking vape huffing under armor tanktop wearing dudebros, where the frick do you get your hair done?
I just shave my head every morning whilst whilst singing "pulling on the boots" and "the smack song"
GC/GD are performance compacts. Third gen and up moved to a modified 4th gen Legacy platform and grew in size, so whatever you'd consider a 4th gen Legacy GT to be.
>short gearing
>stiff suspension
>loud
>interior of a barn
>GT
huh?
>GT is defined as a car that can be driven for long distances at high speeds in total comfort
>Anon thinks a sedan with stiff suspension, short gearing, a cheap interior, and less sound deadening than a porta potty is a GT
I shouldn't be surprised, this is the same board that thinks a Civic can be a sports car.
anything from that period is going to be rare and therefore overpriced
you shouldhave bought one 10 years ago
the wrong supra
>japanese
dont care
lincoln mark vii/t-bird
comfy cruiser with adjustable suspension, both come in auto like the svx and they are not horrendously slow. the 302w has a massive aftermarket anyway.
>will cost a small fortune to import and get road legal
would have been a good shout if I were american though
everyone is assumed american unless stated otherwise, sorry.
fair enough
>so much for european car freedumbs
What would be needed to get road legal?
They give us a harder time importing in stuff into america than out to other countries regarding road legality.
I dont see any real reason you couldnt import a mark vii/tbird to any other country and legally drive it there as is.
Closest thing would be a Mazda Cosmo, but you would have to import one and they are expensive.
these are bretty sick but as you mention they'd be at least as expensive. Honestly any 2 door GT-esque coupe that size is up for consideration. I've even considered a 3rd gen Prelude. Not the 4th though, they're fugly.
I saw one of these for sale a month ago but it was $60k dollarydoos (about 38k in non-monopoly money). Shame I'm a poorgay because if I could afford to I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Acura/Honda Legend coupe
I do like these a lot, I've never seen one for sale though we only get the sedans here for some reason
SUX was superior to the SVX
Hopefully they learned their lesson and go back to their roots with the new SWX
These somehow cost even more than the SVX
>somehow
I ran a search for SVXs a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised at the low asking prices. Where are you that they're so pricey?
You have to triple the asking price for a SVX because every running SVX needs at least 2 parts cars.
So exactly like a 3000GT
Prelude, Eclipse, the list can go on....
I feel like the Eclipse is more a light sports car than a GT but to your credit it's probably still a better GT than a damn WRX
The last gen weighs as much as a GT. The only one I would consider a light sports car is the 1st gen.
It's not designed purely for sports use so it's not a sports car.
>sports use
What even is "sports use"?
Motorsports (sports involving motor vehicles)
Decent second gen Eclipses are really hard to find unmolested... maybe it's just my hotboi area but around here they're either pricey FnF methturbos or rolling shells
>alternative to the SVX that doesn't cost 20k used
What about an SVX that costs 10k used?
Supra MK3
> awd, powerfull v6 and loaded with features
3000gt is basically it.
Isuzu Impulse
Easier to find the cure for cancer than one of those in good shape.
There was an awd turbo one around in a lot when i was a kid i wanted to buy it but they scrapped it when i got old enough to buy it.
Ford Probe gt
>at least a little bit quick
That wouldn't be an svx then
Ford Probe, or its nihonese cousin.
The SVX because they're not 20k used unless you're a moron and use BaT
>use BaT
use what?
>he doesn't know what bring a trailer is
The biggest most moronic and overpriced car auction site on the internet, also the only place a SVX would sell for anywhere close to 20K
Mazda Cosmo, maybe a 300ZX, 3000GT/GTO if you're masochist, Honda Legend coupe, Nissan Leopard and whatever is the Infiniti equivalent
Mazda 626 or 929
